10/10

This is my second review of GTA Wildlife Removal and Pest Control. My neighbours and I have become repeat customers. The previous review was a 10/10 and I'm sticking to it. Any time there is a pest issue Kevin makes the problem go away quickly. We found a dead raccoon in a very difficult to reach space between our extension and our neighbours. The smell was starting to come through the walls and into the house. I called Kevin this morning and the raccoon was gone by 11am. We still keep him on contract to control a local rat problem stemming from a nearby ravine. Anyone living near a ravine in the city will tell you stories about the endless supply of rats. Kevin may not have killed every rat in the ravine but when I'm kicking back with the BBQ going, a beer in my hand and no rats in sight, it sure feels like he did.

We've been struggling with a frustrating and complex rat problem for 2 years (More details below). Kevin showed up with a confident and positive attitude and he clearly knew what he was doing. We've dealt with other pest control companies and they were all very reputable and professional but they just couldn't scratch the surface of the rat population here. Kevin came in assessed our specific issue and man is it working! His determination is impressive and I have to say his followthrough continues to amaze me. -------------------------- A neighbour living in the apartment building behind our property has been leaving food out for the local raccoons. He seems to love them like pets and enjoys watching them from his window. With such an abundant food source it's no surprise that there has also been an aggressively expanding rat population. My wife and I have been working closely with our other neighbours for 2 years to try and reclaim our back yards from the infestation of rats. Other specialists have either been defeated by the food source on the other side of the fence or have simply grown tired of the constant verbal abuse coming from the apartment building while trying to do a job that was being perceived as a threat to the raccoons. Kevin from GTA Wildlife Removal and Pest Control laid out a strategy for dealing with the rats and offered advice to help us prevent the situation with our raccoon loving neighbour from escalating into something uncomfortable. Rats can be extremely adaptive. It makes them highly resilient, especially in such overwhelming numbers. Kevin actively monitors that adaptation and keeps himself one step ahead of them. As he predicted, his strategy took about a month to kick in and WOW has it worked. I haven't seen a rat in a while. That doesn't stop Kevin from showing up on a regular basis to check in on things and make sure he's still on top of it. He clearly loves his work. I think he was attracted by the challenge more than anything else. If you have a pest issue I highly recommend giving him a call. I've never seen anything like this. I honestly can't imagine a pest problem that he can't solve.

Dimitar knows his stuff. He came the day after I called him to re-key both of my entry doors. While he was here he noticed my back door lock wasn't operating as smoothly as it could so he disassembled it and discovered a bent part. He had a replacement in his van so he corrected the problem and didn't charge me anything extra for it. He just wanted it to work better... And it does. I've already recommended him to my neighbours. They hired him and had an equally pleasant experience. 10/10, no question.

Dee was recommended to my wife and I years ago. We've worked with him more than once and we'll definitely work with him again. We recently had ColourWorks in to paint and install some trim in a newly finished basement and sunroom extension. Dee is quick to respond, he's thorough with his quoting and scheduling and generally speaking, he's just a genuinely pleasant guy. He scheduled Julian and Jack for this last project. They showed up on time, they were tidy, fast, polite, and they constantly went above and beyond. The pride that these guys show in their work is astounding. True professionals. Toronto is lucky to have them.

My wife and I are finishing our basement. We needed to move our washer and dryer back down into the laundry room. It's a small house with very tight stairwells and the machines are brand new. I didn't want to do any damage to them or the house. Chris and Yannick came the day after we contacted them. They arrived when they said they would. They did the job quickly and professionally. Explained what they were doing and why and they left without doing any damage to the appliances or the walls. I would recommend them in a heartbeat.

George does excellent work! When I bought my house I gutted most of the main floor and part of the second floor leaving a substantial amount of taping work to be done. I was strapped for time and my father saw that I was stressed. He decided to hire someone and George was the man. My dad never told me how much George charged, he just smiled and said "don't lose his number". That was 6 years ago and the work has stood the test of time. We had some issues with the ceiling, George laughed, and I cant find the problem areas to this day. He made them flat! He knows he does good work and he charges appropriately, he even showed me his tricks. I later did my own bathroom and it looks great! That didn't stop me from calling him a year ago when it was time to remodel my kitchen. Knowledge is no substitute for the experience, pride of workmanship and efficiency George brings to the table. He's a true professional. I regularly recommend him, He just recently he did a friends basement (bulkheads galore!). My friend is thrilled! I feel like a hero thanks to George. I can't make this review glow enough. His work speaks for itself and his rates are fantastic. Hire him. The work will speak for itself.

Hi Nathan. It's George, your taper. Yes! Re-reading your review gives me fond memories of the work I did for you and your father. Your job was one of those jobs where everything came together perfectly, in harmony and happiness. It all worked. I know we've touched bases over the years but you know I still think fondly back to the work. I know you've had some changes since then, but I hope you're still able to enjoy the space and derive value from the quality of the work. All the best. George

I had the front of my house cleaned and tuck pointed by Bill and his dad (very small job - 1 story brick). As people, they really are great. As contractors I find myself making too many excuses for them because I like them as people. Bottom line: I can't recommend them. This job was clearly rushed and I am left feeling like an obstacle between them and a bigger project. Pros: -Very likeable guys. -Always returned phone calls. -Brick colour turned out great. -Mortar colour they selected compliments brick perfectly. Cons: -The Job was rushed, corners were cut (in and out in well under 1/2 day). -Mortar work is inconsistent and sloppy. -Damaged my brand new, custom milled, hand railing (tool marks and chemical spillage). -Scratched paint off aluminum window flashing. -Left a very big mess. They came back a week later to clean up but not thoroughly. -Too many excuses. It was an attractive quote, they had good HomeStars reviews and the competition even recommended them. Not sure what happened here but I did not get the same level of care the other reviews did. I'm disappointed that I paid to have this done and now I need to spend a weekend chiseling excess mortar out of textured brick and refinishing handrails when another hour or two of prep, cleanup and care would have made the difference.

Company Response

I appreciate the response, although absolutely false and misleading.
I had a meeting with the homeowner listened carefully to his needs and wants, we agreed upon a price and we started the job earlier than previously planned. Prior to starting the project I explained some issues that I had with the home owner, the windows being brand new I told the home owner that I would cover them witch I did, the damage was done peeling the tape of of the aluminum window, almost impossible to avoid.
As to the sloppy brick work I explained to the homeowner unless you grind and re point a rug textured brick you will not get a smooth finished joint, this was explained on numerous occasions and thought to be understood!
The custom milled hand railed done by the homeowner himself were beautiful and well protected by us prior to washing, unfortunately there is no way we can completely keep out water run off from getting to them 100%.
The clean up was done properly with broom and brush vigorously prior to us leaving the site, I explained that we can not wash up immediately after because the mortar was still wet and we did not want to get it wet causing the mortar to run and ruin.
After the job was completed the homeowner was ecstatic and thrilled on the outcome of the job and even discussed bringing us back to do more work on the side of the house.
At every step of this project the homeowner was brought up to speed on what was going on, we completed this job in a timely manner and provided quality workmanship and expertise, even came back after we received a phone call regarding some clean up issues, and power washed the whole site down completely again.
In a way I appreciate this negative review because nobody is perfect.
We here at Victorian Restoration over the last 31 years of service to some amazing people take pride in our work and strive to offer the best
service and quality workmanship every day.
It's unfortunate that this inconsistent and inappropriate portrayal of our company from a disgruntled and confused consumer leaves me confused and upset because 31 years in the industry and our previous reviews prove us to be better than how we were portrayed in this ill advised review.

I can't say enough good things about TITAN. I've recomended George a number of times based on the work I have seen him do for friends. He has advised me on several "do it myself" projects he stood nothing to gain from and I recently found my opportunity to hire him myself.    He did a concrete walkway at the side of my house, re-sized a window, moved my basement stairs, opened up a partitioned stairwell and build me a beautiful railing to match existing carpentry.  He was very polite, comunicative, tidy, organized and he came in on budget, just like he did for anyone else who I know to have hired him.    TITAN is and will always be the first company I call when I'm looking for quotes and I suggest you do the same.
