Bill Luke came out to replace my fireplace fan as I thought it wasn't working and to do the annual maintenance on my fireplace. Bill checked my fireplace before installing a new fan and the fan was actually working so he just did the annual maintenance. Bill does meticulous work. I have had the fireplace serviced many times by other companies and he did the best job out of all of them. Bill did a very thorough cleaning, he resprayed the fireplace as the paint had come off, he also added embers which changed the total look of the fireplace, it made it look so much better. It's the first time I felt like my fireplace was properly cleaned and it looks like its brand new because it's been painted. Not only does Bill do an excellent job but he is also very knowledgeable and personable, he never made me feel rushed when I had questions. This is the only company I will be using in the future to service and maintain my fireplace.

I had Westridge Electric replace 3 smoke detectors that had expired. I chose Westridge Electric because of the reviews on Homestars and I wasn't disappointed. I would highly recommend this company. When I called to book an appointment I dealt with Abi who is very friendly and helpful. I really liked dealing with her. I wasn't sure which smoke detector I wanted to replace mine with so Abi sent me the link to the Kidde smoke detectors which are the ones that Westridge installs so that I could look at the various features and decide on the ones that I wanted for my home. Westridge will order a Kidde smoke detector for you if there is one that you want and that they don't carry. As well if there is a recall on any of the smoke detectors they install Westridge will notify you and than replace the smoke detectors. Dustin from Westridge arrived at the scheduled time for my appointment. Dustin was friendly and extremely knowledgeable. The smoke detectors were replaced quickly and efficiently. Once the smoke detectors were installed they were tested to ensure they all worked and I was shown how to properly test my smoke detectors and any questions I had were answered. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that my service call included a safety inspection during which recommendations were provided to me on my electrical system. As well I asked Dustin to look at an electrical outlet outside to a pond that was dismantled last year to see what work would be involved to disconnect the electricity from that outlet for my next service call. Dustin took the time to look at the electrical outlet and said he could cut the electricity off at this service call with no additional cost so I had him do it. I was really impressed with the customer service and that Dustin would take the time to disconnect the electricity from the outside outlet instead of charging me for another service call. I will definitely be using Westridge Electric for all of my electrical needs in the future.

I had a TV that I wanted wall mounted. I had a consultation with this company and was initially impressed with their professionalism. A friend said they could wall mount my TV so I let them but the friend didn't do a great job of positioning the TV so I decided to have this company take the TV down and reposition it on the wall mount. The company was very quick to come out and do the job. One person came out from the company to wall mount a 40 inch TV, he scratched my walls up, didn't offer to repair the walls or to pay for someone to repair them, all he said was it was behind the TV so I couldn't see it. Than on top of it he placed the receiver facing upwards so that the receiver lights up my bedroom which makes it hard to sleep at night. I contacted the company and asked them to come out and change the position of the receiver as it's a 40 inch TV and the receiver is valcroed down so I can't reposition the receiver by myself. I have never gotten a response from the company. At least when my friend wall mounted my TV my walls didn't get damaged and the receiver was placed side ways so it didn't light up my room at night.

Unfortunately, Shaw's cable boxes have a power indicator and a clock on the front panel, which can be bright for a bedroom. Instead of rotating the box (there won't be enough room behind the TV), we can provide some black tape to mask the lighting.

When I was performing the installation, I pointed out that the bracket that was provided by your friend was pressing into the wall and created some scratches that weren't visible unless the television was removed. The "rails" that attach to the TV had a very thick mechanism that hooked on to the wall plate. Unfortunately, because of the mis-matched sizes, some slight dents to your wall behind your television resulted.

To resolve these problems, we will provide a suitable tilting bracket free of charge, fill the scratches made by the previous bracket, mask the lighting on your shaw hd box and ensure you are 100% satisfied. If we need to schedule you for an evening appointment again, we can definitely make that happen for you!

I had all my locks replaced in my home with high security locks. I have only had these locks for about 6 months. The lock that I use to enter my home everyday sticks really badly. I called this company and they said the locks may need servicing after 6 months at a cost of $120. I said my cheaper locks lasted me almost 12 years before they were sticking as badly as this lock. When I replaced my locks I asked about warranty and they said if there is a problem with the locks they would look after it, at no time did they tell me that they would look after it for a $120 charge. These high security locks with installation are very expensive. I was much happier with my cheaper locks. If this lock does need to be serviced or replaced I won't be using this company to do it.

Hi Anne,

We're certainly not happy to hear that you're having sticking issues with your locks. All of our locks are manufacturer warrantied so depending on your locks, they will be covered between 2-10 years. What's likely happening in your case is a door-alignment issue. Generally when you feel a lock "stick" it's because the latch (http://www.handlehub.co.uk/square-tubular-mortice-door-latch-premium-hafele.html) is scraping the hole in your frame. This happens most during the change of seasons as materials expand and contract with the change in weather. Luckily it's usually just a small tweak to the hinges or latch itself.

When you spoke with our representative, they likely informed you that if there was a hardware charge there would be warranty on any defaults in the product. However if it wasn't a hardware-related issue, we would charge for the labour to fix the door issue ($120).

When I called to book my furnace cleaning the owner Cliff was extremely helpfull, he answered all of my questions and provided some suggestions. The technician (Yuri) arrived on time, was very knowledgeable and addressed all of my concerns with the furnace. I had a thermostat that I was unhappy with and had purchased a new thermostat that I needed to have installed. The thermostat was installed at the same appointment as my duct cleaning. The thermostat installation was completed very efficienttly. The prices charged were very reasonable. I don't generally write reviews but I was extremely happy with the services provided by this company. I would highly recommend using them and I will definetly be using this company in the future.
