Rob's Renos does fabulous work! We hired Rob's company to tape and finish the drywall that we installed in our basement. Junior, who did the actual finishing, does absolutely great work. He was on time whenever he came and very pleasant to deal with. Rob's price was fair and competitive. We will use Rob's Renos again and highly recommend his company.

Company Response

Thank you very much for the review. I was very happy when you decided to choose me for you were very nice and fun to communicate with, I enjoyed sitting in your kitchen having a decent conversation as if we known each other for a long while. Junior is what I like to call a magician there is no job that he can not make smooth and look amazing and I can always count on him to get the job done and done on time so thanks again and I really hope that you do use me again in the future.

Thanks again

Rob

Johnny's Finishing restored our maple dining room suite consisting of six chairs, table, and hutch to better than original condition. After multiple other quotes and opinions that stated the furniture was "not worth restoring", John provided us with a very informative history of where the furniture had originated and a competitive quote. The restoration took approximately five weeks to complete and our expectations were exceeded. We were extremely happy with the results.

We took out a membership with Homeservice Club (HSC) two years ago. We gave them three attempts at contracts. Our first was for a wooden screen door: we were advised that there were two contractors to call us. One never called, the second came and after consultation said he could get what we wanted, but never came back. Our second contract was for digging out and leveling our basement floor. Two contractors called: the first was rude and spoke as if we didn’t know what we were talking about (I hung up on him). The second came and probably would have been awarded the contract but his price was almost twice as much as the contract we accepted (and were very pleased with the work from the chosen contractor). This contract was awarded to a non-HSC contractor. Our third attempt to use HSC was for drywall repair work in our addition. The contractor we chose (Tradesman 2000) turned out to be a “jack of all trades” but not a drywall person. On the first day, he failed to cover the hardwood floors (we had to ask to have this done the second day). He was extremely messy. The finished product looked ever so slightly better than before he started. Areas which we said not to touch, he worked on and were left in a worse state that when he started. There were trowel marks on the walls, areas pointed out to him were not touched. Even though he tarped my carpeted stairs, there were still patches of drywall compound dripped on the carpet. He also did a prime coat and he never taped the wood trim or covered surfaces. There are paint splatters throughout. The first day during their clean up, they took my dish cloth from the kitchen and attempted to clean up something (not sure what) and left the wet cloth on shelf of a wooden hutch. We contacted HSC and advised we would not be paying until the job was done to our satisfaction. They sent an inspector who took pictures, etc. Then they sent Boris (another inspector) who would also make it right. After we emptied the room one more time for Boris, we were more satisfied. However, we had to clean up once again, my stairs will have to be steam cleaned. HSC said that they would send someone to inspect (once again) to see if they should cover the cost of cleaning the stair carpeting. We decided that we just wanted them out of our house. $70.00 in annual dues and for one job we had to empty the room and live with the mess TWICE. HSC’s policy is that they will make it right, no discount for inconvenience or how many times you need to prepare and clean up. This was a $70.00 lesson I will never take again!!!!!!

We have had Donlands TV & Appliances visit numerous times for repairs to our washers and dryers for over 30 years. Alan, and his dad before his retirement, have always explained things to us and let us make up our own mind about whether it's worth fixing or not. In all cases, they have done a great job and have never let us down.
