Called Markham Garage doors after looking at the reviews on HomeStars. Three of us in our neighbour hood needed to replace our doors (Builders doors - 1999). One other neighbour had already replaced theirs with another company - we originally called them but they never showed. Markham doors sent an estimator same day. Sales rep was very helpful. They have a wide range of doors and rep gave us lots of good tips. Installers came on time. On my door I spotted a small alignment issue (most people would not have noticed). Tim my installer, was as obsessed with getting the job perfect. He thanked me for pointing that out - redid two panels and corrected it. All hardware and weatherstripping was replaced with superior quality. Job site was cleaned up and all old material put in the truck.

I purchased a used slate pool table from them. I also had them replace the felt. For anyone that is looking at pool tables and has done some research the most important part is the installation. A slate pool table can not be moved in one piece. It must be dismantled and reassembled at the new location. Henry is the owner and did the installation with his helper. They arrived on time and took a little over 4 hours to make sure all was installed correctly and the table was level. After one day one corner seemed to be slightly higher, most likely due to slight settling from the weight on the floor. Henri came back and readjustment the table (it was off by less than a credit card thickness) without charge. Great service!

I have a Bosch Miter Saw that has served me well over the years. Unfortunately it stopped working - would not go on when the trigger was pulled. Initially I thought it could be the brushes ... so ordered a set from VTR. Just to make sure I brought the old set with me for a comparison. Robert at the counter immediately compared them and told me he could not sell a new set to me as mine were still good. He offered to do a complete diagnostic on my saw for $30. This would be deduced from any parts or labour purchased from VTR. The result was that the trigger was defective and he would order one. Well as too often happens the part was no longer available from the manufacture. So I did a search for a replacement part. It was an aftermarket part and not approved by Bosch ... so I printed the info and showed it to Robert at VTR. I asked him if he thought this trigger switch could work and whether he would install it for me. He agreed if I brought it in he would do this. Well after his efforts he managed to adopt the switch to my Bosch 3915 and it is now working great! All Robert charged me was $35 plus tax less my $30 credit! This compound Miter Saw initially cost me close to $700 at the time .. so I'm very happy to have saved what is still a very good saw.

Update June 2018 ... This may we had a large windstorm in our area, my neighbour lost half her shingles (new roof a year old), others lost shingles as well .. Mine no issues. Pays to buy better ! Bought my home new in this subdivision in 1999. Over the last two years I've observed my neighbours have to re-shingle. So I knew I was was due. Having worked many years ago as a helper for a roofer; I knew what to look for in a good roofer. Unfortunately I saw what a poor job most of my neighbours got for their money. Until I observed one crew ... HGR. Of course I called them for a quote. Just to make sure I also called others. OK the others offer me a good price but when I asked them for ice break and underlayment ... oh this was going to cost more. Fair enough but why do I need to tell them what is needed for a good job! HGR explained that they use only better shingles from Owen Cornings and not the minimum standard products offered by most roofers (I checked on line and looked at the shingles supplied to verify). The contract is very clear and lays out everything including any addition cost to replace any bad plywood ( I had two damaged areas - so I was prepared to pay for two sheets @ $60 - the crew leader told me he would charge me only for one and a half since only a half sheet was used on one). The crew arrived on time, The ice break was also cut properly and installed covering the total bottom portion - not as I observed with other crews. Proper ice break underlayment has a sticky side with release paper peeled off as it is installed. Tar paper was installed overlapping everywhere on the whole roof. The crew were meticulous in detail using a chalk line to cut all shingles perfectly! Never saw another crew do this. All vents were replaced and upgraded, new valley flashings, edging and re-caulking. What was also great was the clean-up, not only my yard but also neighbouring areas. When they left you could not tell except for the beautiful roof that they had been there. They may not be the cheapest, but they are not the most expensive either. What I can say is that you truly get your moneys worth. Highly recommend you give these guys a call when you need to re-shingle.

Great selection of granite. I was listened to before being sold anything ... not pushy. I was initially served by Kugan Siva who showed me options that would match what I described. I selected granite for the Kitchen (two different granite colours), Master bedroom (one colour) and two small bathrooms (one colour) that matched the look I wanted. Following that I presented my drawings to Kita Katragjini (sales rep) along with the colours of granite chosen. She was very helpful at recommending what options open to minimize seams as well as cost. Again not pushy just helpful. The price for the quality (full 3 cm slab and not just the edges as many offer), was very fair: so I placed my order with deposit. The person who came to measure was very thorough using the latest laser beam technology as well as confirming everything with a measuring tape. He measured at least 3 times. The data was loaded into his laptop and from there we made the final modifications together. Again very helpful with useful suggestions but never pushy. The installation crew (Edmond, Kejdi & Cendri) arrived on time and did a great job. A small mishap on installing the oversize counter piece caused a corner wood piece to crack ... Edmond was very helpful in helping to fix this with me before continuing the installation of this section. Over all I very satisfied with the installation. If I was asked if anything could have been better, it would be the quality of the 4 bathroom sinks purchased from ProStone. They are beautiful and well finished, however the casting of the original mold prior to glazing is less then perfect around the drain. This makes it a little tricky to get a good seal around the drain when installing the plumbing. My total overall experience was good and I would definitely recommend ProStone.
