Vigen is a pleasure to deal with. His knowledge and expertise are evident, but what really stands out is his friendly and approachable demeanour. Working with someone who not only knows their stuff but also makes the experience enjoyable is a rare find. Photos to come.

They say the right things but their customer service is the worst I've ever experienced. We checked the reviews before hiring Kostas and his crew. Their price was good and they seem like great guys. However, after booking them they seem to only communicate when it suits them. When they finally showed up in November (Booked in early Spring), the crew was great, working like a well-oiled machine. The driveway looked great until the springtime. That's when little oak trees started growing through the asphalt. Not one, but many. I can't get oak trees to grow in my garden but they were doing well in the asphalt that Royal Town Construction put down. Again, customer service became an issue. I made many phone calls and sent texts but it took Costas forever to respond. Even longer to take action. We're talking three to four months. If you're a homeowner, understand that these guys do residential to fill the holes between commercial projects. If you're on a deadline - look for another supplier. If you decide to go ahead with Royal Town Construction anyway, and something goes wrong, don't expect them to act fast. They ended up patching the driveway which made it look awful (see the shot below beside the car - that's the 'new driveway'). So they had a sealer added to the top which they guaranteed would result in a consistent finish. It didn't. And it took almost another year. (Spring 2019 – November 2020) Do yourself a favour and find another crew.

As we discussed with you this has never happened before on any past driveway. It was to our surprise that this was growing through the asphalt considering you had an existing asphalt driveway and all we did was remove and replace. We also discussed with you that your property is in a heavily vegetated/forested area and that the seeds and weeds from grass cutting etc. are what caused this. In our part, because it was summer we waited for the fall to repair so that no more vegetation would grow through. We came twice to remove the vegetation and repair the asphalt, and we had the driveway sealed at our expense so that the repairs were no longer visible in which you were happy with. So we did in fact honour our warranty which should have only been the repair, not the sealer as well.

Service rep was knowledgeable but overpriced. Furnace would not restart unless thermostat was shut off. Burner would ignite but shut off within 3 seconds. Problem was diagnosed over the phone. Condensation drain was cleaned, along with routine check of other maintenance areas, within 30 minutes. Invoice was $150.

This top section is an addition: Beware. Jay from Vaughan is absolutely correct. I too tried to cancel the monthly coverage after a couple of years to switch to another alarm system company – only to have him point to the fine print saying it's a 5 years contract. Obviously, it's my own fault for not going over it carefully before agreeing to it. However, in my defense, most reputable companies will point out the details of the contract to make sure their customers understand what they're signing. To add insult to injury… when I cancelled after the fifth year was over they hit me with a 3 month cancellation fee. I can no longer recommend EKO Security Systems. In fact, I highly recommend that you find yourself another supplier for security monitoring. Get it done right… and read the fine print regardless. –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– Original review: Eko Security installed my home security system without a lot of grief. They attempted to install the window sensors without showing the wires but found that going through the metal and plaster was more work than they bargained for and abandoned the process for the remaining two casement windows opting for the method that showed two wires coming down. I didn't like the look but understood why. However my wife liked the exposed wire look better than the hidden version as she wasn't impressed with the hole they left in the wall. The alarm was installed downstairs - which I said was fine with me. But after hearing the alarm sound - I'm not sure they shouldn't have put the extra work in and installed the alarm upstairs as the resulting sound would have been far more piercing. The workers were very polite and courteous to us. However, they did leave some debris behind. In the end - the alarm works great, and looks good on the wall. Richard did a follow up call to see if we were happy with the product and service.

What could this company do to improve their services?
Possibly do their own home inspection to prevent surprises. make sure they do a check for garbage or dust they may have left behind - before they leave.
Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
Ask about the connection system used for casement windows.
