Quantum renovated the dining room of an old house. They took out the lath and plaster without disturbing the original pine mouldings around an archway, window and door. The work was impeccable, the new drywall fitted perfectly around the mouldings. Then they painted the room. They also built a new mantle set to replace an old fibreglass one. The work was done well, on time and on budget.
I was satisfied with the work and clean-up but I really wanted to send a note about some work you did for me about three years ago. I had a leak in a second-floor ceiling and part of the roofwork overhead, underneath a deck, was still under your material warranty. One of your supervisors, KT, came out to try and find the leak, without success — flat and sloping roofs were involved. Some days later, he returned with two other people to see if they could track it. Just as they were about to give up, they discovered the water was coming in from underneath a dormer door and suggested that I get it removed, since there were two other doors leading to the deck. When workmen removed the door, they found carpenter ants under the sill. The wood was sodden and filled with tunnels. That was the source of the leak. In all, Mr. T spent something like five hours on the task. I am most appreciative of the care he took, and his persistence — especially since it brought no business in. I have to say honestly that I find your prices to be very high and I always wonder about getting the job more cheaply. But your response to my concerns over a job you've done (twice in 10 years or more) is such that that is always the deciding factor when I sign the roofing contract. As long as you continue to provide such exceptional service, I'll stay with Avenue Road.
