I hired plumbing company to remove a bathtub from the living room. They completed work and ordered carpenter service for me from Kromko Construction. Kromko promised to me to come early and to install one and a half pieces of drywall. This drywall covered a small area behind the bathtub, which was removed by plumbing company. The owner of Kromko Construction promised to me to come at the end of the week to install the drywall. Unfortunately, he didn't stick to his promise. Instead of three days I waited for him almost two and half weeks. He phoned me a couple of times providing excuses that he was fixing someone's deck. He said he would come but he didn't show up for work at the arrange time. He delayed other renovation work that was to be done in my house. Kromko came on a Labour Day supposedly to finish his work. He came with somebody and did not introduce me to them. He worked for two hours to install the drywall and patched up the wall. Kromko said he didnt have the time to sand the wall, so my husband had to do it himself. In one week, I received two bills, one from plumbing company and the second one from Kromko Construction. Kromko Constructions bill was in the amount of $435.00 plus HST which works out to $500.25. Kromkos bill doesn't break down work into hours. When he came to my house, I asked him about the cost of his work, but he told me that plumbing company is going to send the bill to me with his work. Kromko never provided me with a quote for his work. Kromko overcharged me for material and hours. For material he charged me $100.00 plus HST. The bill was not accurate because one piece of drywall costs $24.00 plus HST in Bucks Hardware Store. Only for material he overcharged me $52.00. I researched how much a drywall installer charges for his work in Nova Scotia, which should be between $18.00-$35.30 per hour. Kromko spent three and a half hours in my house and charged me $95.71 per hour. He didnt do his job properly. He didnt sand the wall. I paid the bill from plumbing company in the amount of $690.85. I phoned Kromko and asked him to explain to me the break down of his bill. He couldn't explain this. He said he was not going to refund me any money. Kromko is unprofessional and he does not respect his customers. I am not satisfied. I will never use his service again. Customers be aware. Do not use KROMKO CONSTRUCTION.

I used his service only once. I signed a contract to sell my belongies on Rob Sage Auction. He told me I can not reserve the price of my items. But he told me that he was going to use my list with prices as a guide. As a result Rob Sage sold my beautiful things for $2, $5, $10 and $20. I lost almost $500.00 in total. In one week I received cheque from him and I was surprised. I attended his auction and I was watching the bidding prices. When I received an invoice I found a mistake he sold one item for $20.00 but instead I received $10.00 minus his commission. I tried to call him but he never replied to me. I will never ever use his service again and would not recomended his service to anybody.

Approximate cost of services:
$46.00

Company Response

In response to to Nadya (which is not the name she goes by). It is unfortunate her items did not bring the money she hoped for, but I told her she would likely get no where near the money she was hoping for. I do not accept reserve bids, she realized that, and despite what I told her, she went ahead with her consignment.
There was a full auction hall of potential buyers, who obviously did not see the value in her items, and that is the nature of an auction.
More importantly, she NEVER phoned me after the auction, as she claimed. If she had called, I would have returned her call. It is unfortunate she misrepresented that part of her story.
We run an honest, legitimate antique auction, and all potential consignors are warned of the risks involved. I will never take a price list from any consignor and use that as a reserve list. It is not the way I do business.
