On Sunday I was reading the Homestars Forum and saw a post from Paul at The Duct Cleaning Specialists about a contest he was having. The first person to call him with the 'secret word' would win free duct cleaning. I have only had my ducts cleaned once in over 20 years and it was certainly time to have them cleaned. I called and won! Right from the start I was very impressed. He didn't try to sell me anything else and asked me when it was convenient for me for him to do the duct cleaning. I told him that Tuesday around 3:00pm would be best. He told me that it would take at least 2 hours. He arrived early (2:30 pm), which worked out great for me. The first thing he did was introduce himself and shake my hand. He came inside to check out everything and noticed that the company that had done my duct cleaning many years ago had made the holes in the ducts in the wrong place (on the slope going into the furnace, rather than on the straight part). He explained to me that being on the slope would allow alot of the dust/dirt to flow back into the furnace. The small hole only had a piece of regular duct tape that tends to dry out and deteriorate over time and was not plugged with any plug. Also, the large hole had the regular duct tape. He plugged the hole with the proper plug and retaped both with the proper tape. He explained to me what he was doing and why he was doing it. He placed tarps along the floors leading to the basement so that the hose would not damage the floors and took off his shoes. He did an extremely thorough job and then brought in his shop vac to clean up around the vents. He also checked the furnace filter and saw that I was using one of the old washable ones that aren't as efficient. He installed a new disposable filter at no charge. He also went into the crawl space and cleaned the returns in there. When you are looking for a professional, polite, friendly, experienced and well informed company for duct cleaning I would highly recommend that you give Paul at The Duct Cleaning Specialists a call.

Hi Dave, first and foremost thank you for providing a reply for me. I am glad that you are more than satisfied with the service I provided. Regardless of you winning a contest and getting a free cleaning, when a cleaning is to be done, it should be done properly and thoroughly. Although it wasn't fun getting in the crawl space, in fear of being attacked by rats (I'm joking) although I did hit my head about 8 times, certain homes are built like that, and we must make sure that we get in and access the ductwork to provide a thorough of a job as possible. As with everything, you get what you pay for. These low-rate companies don't tend to do the job properly, use "cheap" supplies, and don't care about their work, as it shows with no sealing of the panels, and just putting up a strand of duct tape to seal a hole in the ductwork. There more concerned with getting out of the home as fast as they got in. With all that being said, I am glad I was able to provide the service to you, and look forward to serving you for your next cleaning. I also will be doing your neighbour next week, so i'll be sure to pop by and see how everything is going. Thanks again, take care.

At first they installed new windows upstairs. They did a great job at a very reasonable price. Then I had them back to install a new patio door. Again, a great job at a very reasonable price. I also wanted them to install new basement windows. They took the measurements and gave me a price. I never heard from them again!

My insurance company recommended them. They came on time and did a great job. The workers and service people were friendly and finished the new roof promptly. I would definitely recommend them.

They offer the best prices and great customer service. The sevicemen were on time and finished both jobs efficiently and leaving the place as clean as it was when they started. I also use them for the yearly maintenance. I would highly recommend them.
