Received 3 quotes to do the work in Oct 2020, one vendor quoted makes and models that I hadn't heard of, another wanted to install a furnace with a higher BTU than I already had. Contacted Tim to ask why he wasn't quoting a higher BTU furnace and he explained that the new furnaces are more efficient and I didn't need to spend the extra money. Tim was very responsive to all communications and took the time to explain things. When his team arrived on install day, they took all Covid precautions and protected my floors and staircases. The installers were very friendly, tidy and took the time to explain everything and made sure I was happy before leaving.

My garage door springs broke without warning and my garage would not open. Contacted Whitby Garage Doors through HomeStars and received a call the following morning, the person scheduling my appointment was very polite and understood the problem. Their technician, Nick, arrived right on time and got straight to work. He worked quickly and cleanly and took the time to give the rest of the opening mechanism a quick lube and service. I will be using this company again in the future and would recommend their services.

Contacted Durham Plumbing through Homestars as my pipes were banging and my washing machine had a eggy smell. Received a very quick response from Dave, we discussed the issue and set up an appointment. Dave was very knowledgable and knew that the Whitby area has high water pressure. He asked questions and determined that the Pressure Relief Valve should be replaced and an expansion tank installed. After installation the banging was 90% better. Dave looked at the showers and knew that one of the showers had a Delta cartridge that can contribute to banging - who knew!! Dave came back the following day, replaced the cartridge and there was peace at last. He looked at the washing machine and came up with an innovative solution to stop the smell. Dave and his helper were very aware of keeping my house clean, they wore shoe covers and laid down mats. Dave is very friendly, very personable & listens to the customers concerns. His invoice had no surprises and he accepted payment through e-transfer, very easy. Thanks Dave, I will be calling you again in the spring and recommending you to my friends.

I had used Taunton Trades a number of years ago to install a pool heater and was very happy with their work, so when it came time to renovate my basement they were the first company I contacted. Sean was very responsive and visited my residence to review the work needed. I required a natural gas BBQ line installed and my ductwork reconfigured to removed/reduce bulkheads. Sean's team arrived on time and got to work immediately. All of the team are very friendly, knowledgeable and are very tidy in their work. I had contractors involved in other areas of the basement and Sean ensure that his guys were there at the right time to keep the project moving forward. I am very happy with the work they have done for me and will be recommending them to my friends.
