Renters left my bathroom so disgusting I truly thought I'd have to buy a new tub. But Shayne did the impossible and got it clean, even inside the jets, along with all the revolting tile. It sparkled, and was truly a cleaning miracle, and bonus points for working within my budget and timeline. I am so appreciative - they literally saved me. I'm recommending Dirtless Dave to everyone I know. Thank you so much.

My basement leaked so bad we had to sing Anchors Aweigh every time we went down there. I got quotes from three basement waterproofers. All were within a few hundred dollars, but I went with Clarke because they were the only ones who did the inside basement waterproofing, and their price included a sump pump. They installed yesterday and it hasn't rained, so I can't comment on the effectiveness of their work. But I can give rave reviews to the way they did it. From the salesman to when the crew cleaned up - after themselves and after me - I have nothing but good things to say. When getting the quote, the system was explained throughly and in an understandable fashion. The prices were itemized in a way that made it easy for me to see how much I could save by scaling back certain options. I never felt the salesman was trying to sell me something I didn't need. He was very helpful in keeping me to my budget. And he thoroughly explained to me Toronto's sump pump rebate program, which I didn't even know existed. In the weeks leading up to my scheduled work, I had to call the office several times with dumb questions, as I was prepping the area myself (tearing down drywall, etc) in order to save money. I was never given a recording or the runaround. They always had the answer for me on the first call. Then, when Rob and his crew showed up - on time - they continued this policy of good and friendly and professional service. They were in and out of my house in eight hours, with minimum disruption. My basement is tiny, cramped and low-roofed, and frankly, I didn't do the best job of getting all the drywall out of the way or moving certain heavy objects. They never complained - they just did it themselves. They even hauled away the drywall I had taken down. And they didn't ding me with extra charges for any of it. They left my basement cleaner than they found it, and before they went, Rob took me through and explained the system to me patiently and thoroughly. I can't say enough good things about these guys. They were a pleasure to have in my house. If I'd known such a quality crew was coming, I'd have baked them a cake. I look forward to having them back one day to do the other walls of my basement.

What could this company do to improve their services?
Nothing. They're great.
Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
Believe the homestars reviews like I did, and hire this company. But be aware that inside waterproofing means you'll have to tear down some drywall or otherwise disrupt your basement, if you've been using the space down there. It's extra cost for you, and maybe more of a hassle than guys digging a trench in your driveway, but well worth it in the end. Especially as you will probably be getting rid of old hidden moldy stuff when you do it.

I hired these guys three years ago to reno my upstairs - make my bedroom bigger, reno an existing bathroom and add an ensuite. Also to refinish my hardwood. They took a good month longer to do the job than promised. Didn't always show up, worked odd hours, etc. I arranged to be out of the house for the two weeks they promised it would take, but when I came back they weren't even half done, and I had to live in construction for five more weeks. They did things wrong and didn't do things they said they'd do - one example - in my shower they were to put two shower heads, but didn't, and by the time I discovered it, it was all tiled up. They tiled in the motor for my jacuzzi tub so if it ever quits, I'll have to break into tile to get it. They put up drywall in my bathroom that wasn't waterproofed. They forgot my backsplash. Every towel rack, shelf and toilet paper holder they installed fell down within six months, because they didn't put them in studs. My bathroom faucet was put in wrong and had to be replaced because of the damage this caused it. The list goes on. In fact, I am still discovering things they did wrong. Just today an electrician told me the electrical work they'd done was not up to code. A floor person told me they should never have refinished my hardwood because it had already been sanded enough - I had to have it replaced the following year because of broken boards and nails coming up and splinters. All the plumbing they did is a mess.Additionally, when the project was underway they refused to listen to me - I had to fight them to get the bathroom vanity I wanted installed - they told me there wasn't room for it. I insisted and after weeks they finally did it, and guess what? It fit! With room to spare! So apparently they also don't know how to use a tape measure. Here's the capper - when the work was finally done, weeks too late, and with many things undone or done wrong - they told me I owed them an extra $3800 on top of what I'd given them. I had already paid them over and above the amount agreed upon and specified in the contract (because I was stupid back then), but I finally dug my heels in, told them to present me with receipts for whatever it was they claimed I owed. That made them go away, finally. But I am left with this crappy reno that I am still discovering all the problems with. And as an added bit of revoltingness - I am a single mother, and the owner/project manager, Ken, hit on me. Not just once. Everytime he was there. Gross! And bad work! Avoid at all costs. And Kelli, I would be happy to be part of a class action suit. I still have all my paperwork.

What could this company do to improve their services?
Pay back everyone they have ever ripped off and hire people who show up when they say they will and who are skilled tradesmen

Don't think that just because a company claims to be BBB, bonded and insured and has fancy website, that they will be reliable. Shop around. Get references, go check them, and make sure they aren't from friends of the contractor. Ask your own friends and people you trust who they have used. Don't pay upfront!! DON'T BE AFRAID TO WITHHOLD PAYMENT IF THE JOB IS POOR!
