With Andrew you will get a knowledgeable craftsman who takes pride in doing a job very well with an exceptional attention to details. We replaced our front door and sidelight panel with a fibreglass door, with a wood grain look and stained finish with window panels with custom wrought iron inserts. We had a multi-point locking system installed with the door handle. Andrew also made new house numbers and mounted them on the brick beside our new front door. Our side door was a standard steel door with a high window and some extra decorative trim - side door was about 25% of the total project cost. Our house is a 64 year old (1966) cinder block built house. When our old doors were removed there was no wood from to secure the doors to and no insulation anywhere around the door frames. Andrew and his brother did the installation and did a lot of custom fitting, they insulated all around the doors with spray foam and made sure the doors were 100% rock solid when they secured them to our quirky door frames. All exactly within the initial quote provided. Everything looks beautiful and I feel very secure with the sturdiness of the doors and the increased security of the locking systems we selected from Andrew. Andrew does not over-sell, he walks you through everything and explains all of the options. I in fact selected certain upgrades above Andrew’s recommendations. He is exceptionally honest, very clear on details and very specific on pricing options and what total prices are with and without different selections. You will get a high quality result that you will be happy with for exactly what you are quoted from Andrew.

Thank You very much for Your kind words Jane! I was plannning to be in the area and honestly it was not such a big deal at all:))) Was great to see that the door inserts and the door itself are still in perfect shape after so many years:)) Cheers! Andrew. Lusso Design

The porch railing is fine, but I expected more for the price. Installed in two hours. The measurement of where the footing of the railing is looks off, and there is black paint slopped around the concrete at the bottom. Looks like a discount job but is actually fairly expensive, thought I was paying for better quality and service. Be aware that booking for installation is done with very little notice. They only book installations on Thursdays for the following week, if you aren't available that week you can't book for the week after, you have to wait for them to contact you the next Thursday, and they are pretty abrupt about it. They suggest that you don't have to be there when the work is done, which I think is irresponsible as a home owner. Over all it will do the job, but would not recommend them.

Hello Christie, thank you very much for your review. We are sorry to hear that you are not satisfied with the railing. We have tried arranging a meeting with you on site to go over your concerns however, you have declined it. At this point I can only address what you have mentioned in the review:

Our installations are done according to OBC and the design of your railings was chosen by you, therefore, my understanding is that you are happy with the railings. It looks like the only concern you have is with regards to the fact that you can see the spot from the old railings and black paint around the plate. We cover and protect the work area, but we do not include fixing the masonry/concrete damages that were there from the old railings.

The second concern you are mentioning is with regards to the scheduling. Usually, our customers want their railings installed as soon as possible so our goal is to turnaround the project as fast as we can. We schedule all exterior installation within a week after they are completed and do not require clients to be home in order to accommodate everyone's busy life. We certainly see that this approach is not for everyone and therefore when you told us that you want to be rescheduled and provided us with 3 different dates, we took this information into account when scheduling your installation. In fact, we did schedule you on one of the dates that you have given us. We also mentioned to you that in case this doesn't work we will be happy to reschedule again.

Starting from the estimate we have been trying to accommodate your schedule for the site visit as well as for installation. For both instances, we have rescheduled the appointment twice, both times within the availability provided by you.

I do still want to rectify the situation and send one of the owners to see you and discuss how we can make your experience a 10 rather than a 4.

We were thrilled with Phil and his work for the first portion of the job. Last part of the job we were quoted $450 for but Phil has left the company and the replacement Plumber won’t honour the quote, says it is $200 more. Disappointing, we thought we had found a reliable plumber for a few more jobs we have, and for years to come. Not standing behind the written quote from your own employees does not foster any trust.

Exceptional service from Phil. Very professional, tells you everything that is being done and answered all of our questions. Very nice person to have in our home. Phil also repaired an issue with a shower we had a few months back. The Public Plumbing quote for our shower and this job was much more reasonable than the first quote we obtained, and that plumber didn't seem to care at all if we hired him or not. Phil was very pleasant and clearly took pride in doing the job well.

Installation day is a nightmare. Do not use them. I had taken a day off to get a quote, had thorough inspection of the basement done, explanation of plumbing requirements needed for new furnaces that need drainage for condensation. We discussed the options and I decided what I wanted. None of that information given to the installation guys, they even ran the exhaust pipe across the wrong side of the room - which I also discussed extensively with Jeff Maund. Instead of being discretely along the duct work, easy to box in later, it is on the wrong side of the room, first thing you see, and we will have to make another bulkhead in the room to hide it - against a cement wall so I don't even know how we will do that, probably have to pay someone now. Installation day I couldn't be there, installation guys don't have the information I gave the sales guy. My husband is trying to explain it, installation guy is trying to explain it, it sounds different from any options I was told before. I was told I could get a plumber in anytime before it got cold to connect the drainage to the indoor pipes, now we are trying to get a hold of one today to talk to the installers to see if they can tell them what must be done. Mass confusion, quarrelling with my husband on the phone. I had other jobs to ask the plumber about but he might be coming today instead of later because of all this confusion. Jeff said we didn't need a new thermostat, installation guy says we do and they place it so far off where the old one was that we will have to do more patch work there. Jeff asked about our humidifier on the duct work, I said don't worry about it, has never worked the 9 years we have been here - but there it is, all installed on the new duct work, shiny new pipes going into it! Less important, the AC unit is huge, not what was in the pamphlet at all. Why did I waste booking a vacation day to get a quote when details of our house and what we want either wasn't shared or was inaccurate? This shouldn't be this difficult. I am so mad about the pipes on the wrong side of the bedroom downstairs. The only thing Jeff heard from me and passed on to anyone, is yes I will pay for it.
