I had all the 20 year old oak cabinets in the kitchen painted white as part of a complete kitchen overhaul. Paint Core was very professional and knowledgeable from start to finish. They are really good at what they do. There was excellent and frequent communication from the office from the outset, I was invoiced properly, and the work itself was outstanding. The workers were careful, clean and attentive to detail. The only day of inconvenience is the day they do the cabinet spraying - 2 coats of primer plus 3 coats of paint, all very fast drying. Dishes stay in the cupboards. They even caulked along the ceiling afterwards for a seamless built-in look. Highly recommended.

The interlocking brick in our forecourt and part of the driveway had sagged and sunk over the years. I called the company and that same day Rod came out to the house, gave a detailed description of what he would do and a very reasonable price. He said he would provide a written quote and not ask for money beforehand. On the appointed day his crew arrived and began to work; Rod arrived with the quote and checked that things were going well. His men were amazing, highly experienced, polite and attentive to detail and in 2 days had completed the job, having brought in screening gravel, sand and portland cement and levelled and compacted everything beautifully, paying attention to water run-off and transitions to adjoining driveways and steps. For a small additional amount his worker repaired and reconfigured part of an adjoining retaining wall and filled some gaps in the stone with cement. Before finishing they used a blower to clean everything off, powerwashed all the brick and stone steps and hosed off our cars. Highly recommended.

The ceiling area around my fireplace showed signs of leakage. The Home Pro worker felt that it was the old flashing around the chimney. The price was reduced from $550 to $400 if I agree to pay cash (I'm always suspicious of that...). While on the roof he found that some roof boards were rotted (not surprising) and that would be $300 more, $200 if I paid cash... I agreed. Once he had the roof boards off he found that the insulation was wet (not surprising) and that would be $800 (or $500 cash) to remove it. THAT is what has turned me off this company. I was stuck - there was a hole in my roof - what was I to do? Reluctantly I agreed to pay. The wet insulation filled less than one garbage bag and was removed in 15 minutes. $500! The worker then confided in me that because of a recent injury he was only being paid $15/h. To top things off, he did not trim the bottom or top pieces of metal flashing, leaving a 2 inch overhang - perfect to collect rain water, ice and snow. I had to call the company to come back. The owner phoned to say that he had inspected the work and that the flashing was correct. It wasn't - I compared it to 150 chimneys in my area and none was done that way. They eventually sent another worker (7 hours late) who agreed that the first worker had bungled the job; he corrected it properly. I will not deal with this company again.
