My family built a new home from Vanity Homes in NE Calgary. The entire process was completely horrible and we will never ever do business with this company ever again. The quality of the house is very poor. They used cheap quality products and not even installed properly. Vanity Homes made promises to complete certain work but after I took possession of the house they backed out on everything they said. I made a big mistake by taking possession of the house because the builder does not come to finish any of the work agreed to during the walk-through. The house I purchased has a 2 car attached garage but I can only fit 1 car in the garage. When I contacted Vanity Homes about this problem they told me I have to now pay extra for them to fix their miscalculations and rebuild the garage so 2 cars can fit. I have talked with many people in my neighborhood, who have also built homes with Vanity Homes, and most of them have many unresolved problems. The builder also does not respond back to emails or phone calls when problems are communicated to them. I was warned by a few mortgage brokers that the owner of Vanity Homes, Harbans Gill, has a bad reputation and does not follow through on promises with customers. Please learn from my situation so you do not make the same mistake. Do not put your family through the horrible process my family went though. Thanks
