For years, Royal Lighting has been on the top of our list for all our home lighting needs. After a city-wide search for the perfect hall and stairway lighting, it was back to old faithful. At Royal, there is so much choice, but you don't feel overwhelmed or hustled. Many other stores have good selections, but their prices are ridiculous and often insulting. Royal has the best prices for great lights, and the selection is incredible. The staff are plentiful, and helpful too. We abhor big box stores for lighting as the selection is poor and the prices are not the greatest either. Royal has just about lit our entire house and we couldn't be more pleased.

We just had a positive and successful experience with Allure, and here are the details. Ryan (owner, salesman) was very professional, courteous and accommodating, from start to finish. The selection process was painless and the options and recommendations presented to us were fair and appealing. The estimated time for delivery, cost and installation was reasonable and booking the appointments was easy and straightforward. The installation of all 4 window treatments (2 California shutters and 2 blinds) were clean and proficiently carried out, and the result is a wonderful addition to our home. We are very pleased with the shutters and blinds and our overall experience with Allure – and many have already complimented us on the aesthetic and quality of the treatments themselves.

If you are looking for a professional and trustworthy Toronto-based electrical company, look no further. I just had work performed by the crew at Academy and am pleased with the workmanship, quality and service. They came highly recommended by my wonderful real estate agent (who hasn't steered me wrong yet), and after a brief set of phone calls and emails with Manager Steve, an in-home estimate appointment was booked. At the appointment, Steve walked me through various options for the work I needed to have performed (a few fixes as well as installation of pot lights) and provided a wealth of detail. A follow up quote was promised and sure enough, the very next day the quote was delivered. The estimate was fair and reasonable, and both parties eventually agreed upon the scope of work to be performed (via phone calls and emails – and I was always asked which method worked best for me). The start date was negotiated a few times, and when the actual day came, the crew arrived on time and ready to get to task. Steve walked me through the plan of the day, and then together we confirmed the choices for fixtures and switches. He and the young and friendly two man crew then began to thoroughly cover every item in the work area and the floors with tarps and drop sheets, and started the work. When another day was needed for plastering, we settled on one that worked for the laborers and my schedule, in a very timely manner. The plastering took a little longer than anticipated, but was done in a professional manner and by a pleasant and skilled tradesman. All in all, I am totally satisfied and impressed with the electrical and plastering work performed by the guys at Academy. I would certainly recommend them to any family or friend, and will continue to use them for any future electrical needs I may have.

http://www.keetsa.ca We just can't say enough about Keetsa!!!!! We absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE everything about this company and their products and their principles. So here are the details... After one amazing wintery weekend at a NYC hotel with a TempurPedic mattress, we were beyond sold. Given the hefty pricetag though, we waited and saved for months, savoring the idea that sooner than later, we'd be in sleep heaven. Fast forward to the Toronto Home Show in October and an accidental bump into Keetsa, and the rest is history. Kate (the manager/owner/deliverer/customer service rep extraordinaire) introduced us to the best product we've seen in years: The Keetsa Cloud, a memory foam mattress made with all recyclable materials! Kate's no pressure, easy going, informative and enthusiastic attitude was such a pleasant change from the salesy-salerson pricks you get at other mattress/bedding stores where commission is the ultimate goal (won't go into detail about that, but needless to say my TempurPedic shopping experience was repugnant). After a "nap" on the Cloud at the Home Show ... we knew this was the one. A visit to Keetsa's only Canadian store in Toronto's Beach area, and a catch-up with Kate, and we were the proud new parents of one hellova sleep-maker. So we bought the Keetsa Cloud at about 3pm, and by 6:30pm Kate herself was ringing our doorbell! We laughed when she showed up in her "delivery" vehicle ... a Toyota Echo!! No 12 footer diesel guzzler in sight. The mattress was in a box the size of a small fridge, and she hulled it up two flights of stairs in a flash (please note - she's no rugby player), as the mattress is magically compressed under 12 tons of pressure! It took a few hours for it to completely rise and there weren't any nasty plasticy-chemically odours either. We ended up buying the Tea Leaf Traditional Pillows too, and couldn't be happier with the result. All in all - if you're looking for the best sleep ever, without breaking the bank, and are a tree-hugger in disguise (shhhh - don't tell anyone), Keetsa is by far your best bet. It's a great product at a great price, and makes your eco-friendly heart swoon.

We just had our home's ducts serviced by Dial One and are more than satisfied with the service provided. They were 10 min early for the appointment (so great!) and were courteous, friendly, explained in detail what they were going to do, and left no mess at all. Even setting up the appointment (via phone tag!) with the manager was easy and pleasant. I would certainly recommend this company and the service they offer.

No one really wants to move themselves. We only do it because, a) we're poor b) we just want to drive that massive UHAUL and feel the power c) the moving company you originally booked effed up and left you with nothing but frustration Enter the king of moves, Polanski Movers. We booked them on a recommendation from one hellova realtor, and from the high praise bestowed upon them from a colleague. But even still, you just never know what you'll run into when it comes to hiring out a company for their services, especially movers, so we were still leery (can ya tell we've been burned a few times? Ya think?). After an initial series of emails and phone calls, all of which were very pleasant and painless, the manager came to our home for a quick walk-through to ensure everything was covered. He came over promptly at the suggested time, and showed up looking very professional and approachable. He surveyed our small home, said everything was in order, and confirmed once again that we were good to go for the big moving day. A few days before the move we called Polanski to inquire about chests of drawers and closets, and after a polite but tiresome game of phone-tag (loathe the phone), we finally connected and we were informed that they'd prefer to pack these items as is. No problemo!! And again, on the day before we were due to move, the manager (Chris) called to inquire about moving the start time up on hour due to the extreme weather warning (okay, so it was the ONLY hot day we've had all summer this year - go figure). We had no issues whatsoever with an earlier start time, as we knew we wouldn't be sleeping that night anyway... On move day, the 3 man crew showed up only 10 minutes late, but only after calling twice to indicate they were struck in a wee bit of traffic. All 3 guys were dressed in matching golf shirts and pants, smiled and nodded accordingly, and got immediately to work, wrapping and packing and whatnot. It was amazing! They wrapped everything, from the furniture to pillows to mirrors to lamps. They even unknowingly to me, packed up our closets for us! They took one short smoke/coffee break, and gave us a bit of a forewarning just before they did so. Upon reaching the new home, they unpacked everything just as delicately and proficiently and were done just 20 minutes shy of their original projection. Only one small cheap Ikea dresser was slightly damaged, and they offered to come back and fix it for us or give us a small discount. All in all, we would HIGHLY recommend Polanski Movers to anyone who's looking for an affordable, professional and courteous moving company in the GTA.
