Austin came out to fix a frost-free hose bib that had developed a leak within the ceiling of our developed basement, unexpectedly turning our boring basement bar area into an a new swim-up bar... Scheduling an appointment with Linda was a breeze and Austin was very knowledgeable & efficient and explained everything to me as he went along. Pricing was also very reasonable as they didn't tack on a "service fee" over and above time and materials, which I've experienced with other contractors. Overall, we're very happy with the results and would not hesitate to recommend Day & Knight. Thanks guys!

I found Urban Alterations here on HomeStars and after meeting Mark in person, decided that he was the guy for the job. He was very thorough in his quote and very fair in his pricing. He and his crew did a fantastic job over the course of a week and we couldn't be happier with the results. He's clearly a perfectionist and his attention to detail shines through in his work. And, unlike the big painting contractors, it's great to have the owner of the company doing the work himself and taking pride in the result. We've since hired him to do some additional exterior work for us and hope to have him do some interior work as well. Very highly recommended - hire with confidence.

If I could give Roof Right an 11, I would. It's rare in this city to come across a company that understands customer service - Dave and Veronic get it. From my first contact with Veronic (who is absolutely charming and helpful...), through our on-site consultation with Dave, it was a great experience. When the owner of the company is on the roof doing the work himself - it makes a huge difference! You know they are vested. The crew was extremely polite and respectful, and when they left, it was like it never even happened - they left the site absolutely spotless. I chose them over a very established Calgary company on my interaction with Dave & Veronic alone. Great company, great people. Don't hesitate !

Not sure about the negative reviews. I hired Shovelled Walk again this fall, after using them a few years ago. I've had a very good experience thus far - they are very responsive and the crew is always here within the 24 clearance window. The one time they didn't show up, I called them and they sent a crew out after realizing we were one of the few areas of the city that received snow. Very happy and would hire them again. Perhaps the other reviewers should temper their expectations if they are expecting immediate service after the last snowflake hits the ground....

After receiving an independent recommendation and reading the reviews on HomeStars, we had Chris in to replace two furnaces and two A/C units in our new (to us) home. Chris was great at walking us through our options and fully explaining why putting in a single-unit zoned system, as suggested by another contractor, wouldn't be ideal in our scenario. His installation team was on-time, efficient and very polite. Follow up service was equally impressive, including finding a solution to a couple of lingering issues. Overall, it was refreshing to deal with someone who emphasizes customer service, shows up when he says he will and delivers a quality product at a reasonable price. I would recommend without hesitation.

Outstanding value for the money. RIck was very responsive to my initial inquiry, and on the date of the inspection proved to be thorough, professional and extremely knowledgeable. Over the course of 5 hours, he walked us through every nook and cranny and picked up on numerous things I would never have even considered. The report was extremely comprehensive, with photos and detailed commentary on areas of concern - a far cry from the usual "check the box" reports that I've encountered in the past. Rick isn't the cheapest option out there - there are lots of franchises in Calgary that will do the job for 2/3 of the cost in half the time. But, I strongly believe that you get what you pay for and, at least in this case, the investment of time and money was well worth it. Thanks Rick!
