Although the work Greg has done for me has been in the past, I feel that I need to add my comments. Greg did a reroof for a rental property, and then later on a reroof for my garage. All work was fully explained and done without any issue. Its quite apparent Greg knows what he is doing and takes pride in his work. As he is the first and only person I call for roofing issues, I called him for issues with my new house that I had renovations done/overseen by a general contractor (I had wanted Greg to do it but the GC preferred their own roofing sub; was that ever a mistake in not insisting using Greg). Greg came by and took a look at the issues but unfortunately, advised the work needed was not within the scope of his services. Nonetheless, he provided feedback and even came back again when I called him to bounce off some ideas off of him. It is rare and refreshing to see someone that puts in the extra effort. As I said, Greg an Crucial Roofing is the only roofing company I will deal with and have no qualms in recommending him.

Darryl and his crew from deckexperts.ca did a complete composite deck for us. Took our ideas into consideration and more importantly, added his input which proved to be invaluable. The deck turned out fantastic, and exceeded our expectations to say the least. Based on our negative experiences with contractors, we ensured that we did a thorough job of due diligence and people that I spoke to had nothing but great things to say; and I am no different now that the job is done. FYI. Darryl and deckexperts are cateogrized as TrexPro Platinum installers (highest level) from Trex itself and can now see why. I will be posting pictures shortly, but have no hesitation in recommending Darryl and his crew. Feel free to contact Darryl for my contact details; you are more than welcome to come and see for yourself the great job that he has done for us.

Based on my negative contractor experiences, relied upon Homestars to find a few contractors to do landscaping. Solicited a few and Emilio was one of them. Quick summary: Fantastic workmanship and Emilio is a stand up, hardworking and honest guy. Details: It is very clear that Emilio takes pride in his work as it shows in the details of his workmanship. He keeps communication open and does what others “say” they do but don’t; specifically, he listens to what we wanted and we bounced ideas off of each other throughout the process. End result is better than what we expected and the whole experience in dealing with Emilio was without any headaches. What had started with a base level scope of work, expanded due to the comfort level we had with Emilio. Definitely money well spent and he accommodated us throughout. Work he did: - Preparing the site for landscaping (and did he ever need to prepare the site since it was a wreck for an extended period of time from a complete house reno). - Retaining wall work using Allan block style bricks and using such for steps in multiple areas. - Demo of a dilapidated garage and creation of an additional parking pad. - Installing pressure treated wood as dividers between neighbouring properties - New lawn using sod. - Paving stones/stepping stones work. - Building privacy fencing for a basement suite. - Fencing for backyard (note: all fencing was clear cedar strips and had to be hand built; not prefabricated cedar panels) I don’t want to get too much into the work since seeing the work will speak to it better than I can; will be including pictures soon. With that said, I welcome anyone to come by and see for themselves as well (contact Emilio for my contact details). This review may sound over the top, but it truly reflects how we feel about the great work that Emilio has done for us.

Was a major renovation which was to be completed within six months. At the 15 months mark (9 months over the original scheduled completion date), we had scheduled a final walkthrough to go through all of the remaining deficiencies, which were quite numerous. Instead, they cancelled the meeting and insisted that they were finished and never returned. So, nine months over the expected completion date and the job remained incomplete with poor workmanship. There are even two outstanding permits from the City that Novell claimed, after they walked off the job, is the Owner's responsibility! Yet, the job is considered done? You can even perform a search on the BC Supreme Court website. You’ll see that there was a claim filed against Novell and get some insight into what they are like. You’ll also see how they have filed a claim against me to which I disputed and filed a counter claim of my own. Would not recommend in any way whatsoever. The attached pictures are but some of the still existing issues. I have a ton more but think you get the point. Floor tile: how the grout is throughout all floor tiles. Bath tile: grouting so inconsistent (it's not wet). Roofing: no drip ledge and clearly exposing the ply underneath. Door: inconsistent paint. If there is any doubt, I welcome you to come see for yourself the workmanship.
