Dave and Lorne did a masterful job! From the initial visit to completing the work, they made the experience seemless and easy. I appreciate their attention to detail and really going above and beyond to exceed our expectations. Its refreshing to know that there are companies like this that deliver at such a high standard. We are already thinking of the next project and working with Hallmark again!

When it comes to finding Trades, I'm as meticulous as it gets. I inquired with 16 companies about the job and the details + quotes I received were all over the spectrum. I was becoming a little more weary as I learned of installation challenges, inspection costs, adding this and that, etc. However, Better Home Design really stood out for me as Walter Rodriguez, the owner, maintained great patience and tact in explaining things to me. He even took time out of his weekend to answer my questions and called me to reassure me of things. Walter was very tactful, didn't try to sell me on anything I didn't need, and had a very honest demeanor. With that, I went with his company and am quite pleased with the installation process and end result. In regards to the Furnace + Air Conditioning equipment, it all is the same stuff no matter what brand you go with. I'm surprised at how much negative reviews there are out there when researching this, but with these types of things you are bound to run into a faulty unit. It all comes down to having the right company installing and backing up what they've done. Finally, I did opt to go with the Napoleon brand just because they are a local Canadian company, which gives me a bit of peace of mind and pride to support them in these tough economic times.

Last year, I took the easy route to have my old wooden windows repainted. However, the harsh winter coupled with the glaring sun in my South facing backyard brought my windows back to their old peeling and dire state! So, I made a conscious decision to have them replaced this year instead. I began my journey at Costco looking into their offerings and found my way onto Homestars where I made arrangements with the 10 most highly rated companies to provide me with an assessment/estimate. It was interesting to go through the process as I found all the vinyl window offerings to be the same, but the delivery of the details and price were all over the map. Overall, I was most impressed with Vinyl Window Pro because Tisha was the only guy to bring a working sample, gave me the most honest opinion, and got me to come down to the office to demonstrate everything (from window pane differences, low-E, Climaguard, to operating mechanics). I'm a very technical + hands-on guy, so I can really relate and appreciate things up close 'n personal. Anyways, after careful consideration and negotiating, I decided to bite the bullet and get the entire house done (10 windows + 1 patio door). It took about 3.5 weeks to have the windows ordered and have the installer guys come in early July. Vlad and his crew were swift and courteous throughout the window installation process. The quality of work was outstanding and they were able to deliver in as promised 2-day time frame. My only complaint was that they left a bit of a mess behind, which I they did make some efforts to cleanup, but it probably would of been less if they covered things up better to begin with. If it weren't for that, I would of given Vinyl Window Pro top marks!
