I had a small retaining wall and fence put up along the edge of my property 3 years ago. This is a small, family run business that provides very friendly, personal service. Mark is a family man and a decent human being. He treats his workers and customers with a great deal of honesty and repect. He went out of his way to do a top quality job at a very reasonable price. He even offered to make a custom garden gate for me at a fraction of the regular cost as a special project for himself. If all contractors were like him, it would be a beautiful world! I highly recommend this company.

One of the owners came to my house to give me an estimate on a new high efficiency furnace, air cleaner and humidifier. He was very knowledgeable, professional and his pricing was competitive. Based on other reviews on this site, I decided to give him the job. The installers came on time. They were curteous and professional. They consulted with me on all aspects of the job and got the job done efficiently leaving very little to clean up after they left. The furnace looks beautiful and the fan is very quiet. I anticipate flawless heating this winter and I hope to see savings on my gas bill. Thanks Tropical!

I have had the heating protection plan from direct energy for a long time. Every year when they come to clean the furnace I would tremble that the technician would mess up my furnace. 50% of the time it would take a second or even a third service call from different technicians before the furnace was working correctly again. And this is an old mid-efficiency furnace which should be very simple and straightforward to service. The quality of many of Direct Energy's technicians is very poor. The last straw came when the furnace's pulley broke one evening in the coldest part of the winter. I phoned for emergency service and was told that I could only get a technician to look at it in two or three days. When I explained that I had an infant ( less than three months old ) in the house, the best they could do was to come out within 48 hours. This was a real eye opener. In the good old days, Consumer's Gas would have a technician out on an emergency call in three or four hours. I was very unsatisfied with this poor level of service. I just bought a new high efficiency furnace from another company. I have cancelled my plan with direct energy and I will never let one of their technicians anywhere near my new furnace.

Sears had the best warranty and competetive price on a new central air conditioner. The salesman was not too pushy and gave me all the options to choose from. The technicians came and discussed the best way to install the unit. They were curteous and responsive to my needs. There was a problem with the initial installation ( power was not getting to the compressor ) so another technician had to come out to fix the problem. SInce then, I've had 7 years of trouble free use out of the unit. It has worked perfectly and is still under warranty.
