This company was hired to install furnaces & AC units in 138 rental apts where I live. Mine was installed on Dec 31/08. The furnace was not functional until mid-March. I was still on electric heat. This cost me more than $100 in excess heating and immeasurable aggravation. When the work was inspected on March 13 the gas inspector found 'corrections' which needed to be made. A date for completion of April 30 was given. If the corrections were not made my gas would be disconnected. Steve Bingle, of Great Lakes was aware of these corrections on April 13. On April 28 I called our property management wanting to know when this was being done....we were now 2 days from the cut off date. Steve Bingle called me to arrange to go into my apt on April 29 to complete the corrections. He was also under the assumption that I had been without hot water for 2.5 weeks due to an issue with the mixing valve on my hot water tank (which they installed). When I got home from work on April 30 I found a card on my door from Union Gas. My service ahd indeed been interrupted and will remain off until the re-inspection could be done. For 2.5 months Great Lakes knew my furnace was not working (the installers commented on this fact when they left my apt on Dec 31) They had notice of the corrections for 7 weeks and were under the assumption that I had been without hot water for 2.5 weeks. Is this a company that you would use?

Approximate cost of services:
$100.00
