I had an absolutely wonderful experience with Aspen Windows and Doors from the moment I first contacted George (referred by a friend) to the moment I paid my bill. It was a stress-free experience! George is great on communication, highly professional, and he and his team installed ALL new windows for my house in 2 days (there was about a 6-month lead time to order the windows). They are gorgeous quality and style. My house is now warm, quiet and beautiful. I HIGHLY recommend going with Aspen Windows.
2 new custom exterior doors and locks, 1 new custom storm door
"High End Product, Low-End Installation and Customer Service" Our experience with Moncada Windows and Doors was very disappointing. After an initial delay in the installation of two new custom doors and a custom storm door, there were then several mistakes with the installation requiring them to return for repairs the following week. These included a loose handset, off-centre lock, missing flashing, and a large chunk of damaged plaster from our wall. One deadbolt was mismatched to the handset but they installed it anyway and promised to replace it with the one we ordered and paid for. Three months later we are still waiting for them to return. Numerous phone calls and emails have been left unanswered. We do not recommend Moncada Windows and Doors.
This job was done exceptionally well considering existing doors were so badly installed and frames were removed our install ion was done well we did have to come back and do adjustments which we did and for the the off centre lock that door is existing which is over 70 years old she added that lock after our contract and was not an easy install but we made it right on the hard ware that was not done on the contract and we ordered exactly what was emailed to us and what customer wants is not available even to switch
driveway expansion, building of retaining wall & patio
Tony and his team did a beautiful job of widening our driveway, building retaining walls (stone) and adding on a small patio at the front of our house. They were professional, expedient and very friendly. We highly recommend them, and several neighbours have come to ask for their card since our house went from being boring to stunning! We will definitely hire Braga Contracting again.
We bought a home built in 1937 and became very concerned when the drinking water test came back from the city showing we had high lead levels in our water. Expecting twins, this was of particular concern. We had a difficult time obtaining information from the city about whether or not the city portion of our lead pipes had been replaced, and if not, how we could coordinate that with the replacement of the private portion. 10 weeks into our hunt for information, Frank from FNJ Contracting showed up at the door as a cold call and provided information about when our city lines had been replaced. He was professional, informed and personable. A week later he and his team came to replace our private lead pipe line and were in and out in just a few hours. Because they work with special machines from the outside of the house, our basement was left unscathed, saving us $$$ in having to repair damage to our finished area. Now we can rest assured that our drinking water is safe. Thank you, Frank!
Whole house re-wire, main floor reno inc. structural
Finding Reiner the Reno Coach was fantastic! If it weren't for him, we would still be scratching our heads and trying to figure out how to get a permit from the city. We met with him once, hired him, and the next week he had someone at our new house doing architectural drawings and applying for the permit. The day after we took possession of the house, a demo team was in. Reiner was easy to communicate with, very accountable on the job, and helped us make decisions. He saved us countless hours of searching for contractors, and handled any problems we had so we could keep a step back. In just 8 weeks our reno was complete and we are enjoying our new home. We can't recommend Reiner more highly - especially if you are working and/or this is your first reno project. Think of him like a wedding planner - but for renovations. You'll never regret hiring him.
Jason Hepburn and his team at Trichroma completed high quality work in our home. It was VERY easy to communicate with Jason about the "big ideas" as well as small details or minor problems - everything was easily and swiftly resolved. Renato and his business associate Slavic were an excellent team to have in our home. They are highly professional and go the extra mile to ensure homeowner safety. The skills and service of Kathy and Steve at Fine Craft Upholstery blew my expectations out of the water. I took them the most run-down and worn out chair and they brought it to new life. I was so pleased I took them another chair, sofa and had them make me a headboard, too. I brought another small piece of a fabric remnant I loved and they made it into two fabulous bolster cushions. The first thing that everyone who comes to my home does is sit down on the furniture and sigh, then they feel the fabrics Kathy helped me choose, oooh and ah, then bounce up and down and say, WOW! Great furniture! Was this really your parents' old stuff? I proudly say "yes", and then give them Kathy's card. I could not recommend Fine Craft more highly: it is a business where skill, service and STYLE meet!
