Harvest pillows are unique because they are filled with buckwheat, rather than down or man-made materials like foam. I have dust allergies and my wife thought it would alleviate my congestion in bed. The buckwheat helps to reduce allergies cuased by dust mites that can breed in conventional pillow padding. Also, the buckwheat makes the pillow feel like a bean-bag chair, that is, once you "fluff" the pillow under your head, your head stays in exactly the same position. There is no compression like with a foam or feather pillow. As a result, it is excellent for someone who gets a sore neck from their pillow.
