We chose TCA Electric for our basement renovation based on a personal recommendation from our builder friend Doug. After meeting with John from TCA, I didn’t even look at any other electricians. Working with John (project manager) and Paul (electrician) was easy and a pleasure. Always professional, efficient, friendly, excellent communication & customer service. The job was a gutted to studs, full basement renovation. _Everything_ in the basement was rebuilt. The electrical work was comprehensive (demo, new sub-panel, power, lighting, bathroom radiant heat, low voltage, etc.) plus cleanup of exposed wiring to the main floor . The work was meticulous & clean… completed on time & on budget. We would not hesitate to recommend TCA!

I've used PurAir for Furnace & duct cleaning after my last renovation and went with them again after revisiting their Google & HomeStars reviews. It was easy to book online, confirmation via email and I was reminded of my appointment a couple days before via telephone & email. Alex was prompt, friendly and explained/reviewed everything I needed to know. The cost of service is reasonable and the customer service is excellent. Recommended.

I contacted Knights Insulation based on their reviews on Homestars & Google. I selected Knights after meeting with Del, who worked out an estimate to insulate my basement. Del was friendly & personable and his quote fit my budget and was quite fair. He even offered to simply supply & deliver material if I decided to install the Rockwool batt myself (I mentioned to him that I initially thought of doing the install myself). The job was to fully insulate an 800+ SF basement to code including adding soundproof batt for the interior partition walls and the entire ceiling. The job took about a day and a half. Melanie and her two person crew did a great job. The work passed City of Vancouver inspection even before Del came back to finish up a small area of foundation wall with ISO board. Knights Insulation provided great communication & service, prompt & quality work all at a reasonable price. Recommended.

My back fence needed replacing and a co-worker recommended Sunbury Cedar. Went to their website and liked what I saw. They even have an online method of initiating a quote that including roughly mapping whatever you're constructing. I was contacted promptly and someone double-checked the property before I received a written quote. The quote was quite detailed and the price was competitive.. After checking HomeStars & Google reviews, I didn't bother checking anywhere else. The only thing I needed to decide on was whether to have them just supply the material or supply and build. I eventually decided on supply & build. I'm very happy with the results. Mark did the installation in two days. He answered and explained many things and the build craftsmanship was excellent. Highly recommended.

Most Impressive! I needed a new front door and I chose to check out Doors Galore based on positive reviews from HomeStars & Google. I dealt with Al and he was friendly and very helpful. I didn’t just want to buy a door, I was also looking for a place that did their own installs. The door (including custom paint) and installation price was in my budget. I think the installation is just as important, if not more than just the quality of the door. My installation was done as scheduled by Casey and I was really impressed with his work. So detail oriented. Well done and a very clean install (this included the exterior & interior casing). Can't say enough about the finishing. I love the end result! The door looks awesome. Couldn’t be more pleased. I’d use Doors Galore again and would definitely recommend them.

I chose Spray-Net (Vancouver) to refinish the exterior of my home. They painted the vinyl siding of my house and garage, the aluminum covered fascia and the vinyl soffits as well as the exterior rear deck and the main floor wood window trim. The house was pressure washed about a week before painting. Karine, Jack and the paint crew were great. The paint prep work and masking looked meticulous. The job was completed in three days. They gave a great suggestion about going with black soffits & fascia rather than the typical white. The black looks great with the grey I chose for the siding. All that vinyl looks brand new! So very pleased with the work and the end results. I’m very happy with the excellent communication, customer service and the quality of the job.

My old & tired wooden garage door needed replacement.. I contacted SmartGarage.ca after seeing one of their doors on a garage near where I work. I received a prompt, clear & concise quote from Will after a site visit. It costs a bit more than a “regular” garage door but I’m happy I chose it. Installation was done within a couple weeks after I placed my deposit. The door cleared up the overhead space in the garage and it’s very quiet. Apparently, the door is more secure too. I like the key-chain remotes. I’m quite satisfied with the quality of the door and the service (sales, office & installers). The only thing I missed was that the roll-up opener does not have a light as standard like most garage door openers. This was easily rectified by installing a motion-sensing switch for my garage lights. I would recommend Smartgarage.ca

I came across www.removeceilingtexture.com while researching other things for my home reno. I am so happy that I found their website. Prior to the start of my reno, I wasn't aware removing the texture was a realistic option. I have heard of scrapping the stuff off or just installing a new drywall ceiling. Scrapping sounded time consuming and messy and a new ceiling expensive. I called Asa and he clearly explained I had a couple options regarding my living/dining room ceiling texture (about 450 sqft). It could be sanded/vacuumed off with a specialized machine or two skim coats can be applied to the ceiling. Due to the age of my home and the risk of asbestos, we went the skim coat route. Asa skillfully did his work and I am amazed at the results. It's hard to believe it's not a new drywall ceiling! I now have a bright, smooth, flat finish where a textured shadowy ceiling used to be. I wish I didn't misplace my before pictures. Highly recommended.

I found Bill's Glass Ltd. from a search through Yelp initially. Based on the reviews I read and their convenient location, I decided to give them a call. I needed glass inserts cut and installed in a couple kitchen cabinet doors. They were friendly, professional and provided a fair price for the service. The work was completely promptly and the workmanship excellent. I would happily return for any glass work and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
