Pat finished earlier than quoted even though he was ill! Finishes are excellent. Mudroom: After previously using a less than satisfactory handyman to insulate my mudroom, I called in Pat to give me a quote on fixing the mess and adding a powder room. he showed up as promised and brought his plumber with him to check that what I wanted could be done. He had another job finish earlier so was able to start mine early. He took great care with my small dog in the house. Showed up when promised and advised of cost changes in advance when I wanted something additional to the original quote. I am so pleased my guests and I don't have to go up or down stairs just to use a washroom. Also love my heated floor in the mudroom. Could not be happier! Washroom: is this not the most beautiful bathroom ever! The shower had a dropped ceiling making it feel like a coffin, so that was removed along with the shower curtain. The wall at the end of the shower was also removed so I could see the window and trees. This meant the plumbing needed to be rerouted to the opposite wall. Then I would have looked at the toilet so that was swapped with the basin. The ceiling fan was super loud and the tiles were ugly. The only thing the bathroom kept were the shutters. I found amazing led lights. I had an automatic hand soap dispenser installed as well as a heated towel rack and super quiet fan. I love this room! And Pat was amazing. He laid down sheets on the stairs to keep them as clean as possible, kept me up to date on what was happening and came in exactly on budget and early.

Just check out the before and after photos! Chris and the crew were amazing. Chris came to see the job promptly and gave me a quote immediately. Luckily we had a late start to winter so he was able to fit me in quicker than I expected. The color was exactly what I wanted. I previously had brick at the bottom and siding at the top of the house. I had the old small guttering so had that changed out at the same time. They even used a level to ensure everything was exact. Kept the area clean and tidy. I was concerned about a hairline crack which Chris came to check and fix straight away.. I love the update this has given

as soon as I moved into the house I wanted the front door changed to something solid. Aubrey came to quote at a time that suited us. He initially quoted on three doors, 2 with triple locks and sent through the quote quickly. They also kept the showroom open until we could get there after work to view and choose the hardware. We were able to match the glass to the existing door quite well also. The doors were installed 8 weeks later, look great and function perfectly.

john installed a sun tunnel over my internal stairs exactly 1 year ago and I still point it out to guests! I no longer need to turn a light on during daylight. I can not believe the difference it makes. the inside looks just like a light fitting. fortunately he isn't a large man because the access to the roof is very small and above a wardrobe. He doesn't try to sell you things you don't need either - I thought about one in the bathroom but he said I didn't really need it and he was right.

when I booked my new stucco, I wasn't aware that I would need to also book in someone to change the soffits and downpipes etc. so i was very lucky to be able to get Robert in December. This turned out to be a good thing though as I had wanted to have the downpipes disconnected from the storm water. I also hadn't realized I still had the original tiny eaves troughs on the house. Robert was able to fit me in exactly when needed. he also rerouted the downpipes, put larger eaves on and matched the color to the house. (with a different colour to match the roof portion. he even came back at a later date to fix something for me.

I would recommend Glen if you have small jobs that you are unable to complete yourself or can be completed by Glen in 6 hours. Points to note: Glen arrives on time He advised the price up front (192.10 for the first hour of each day then 96.05 after that) - cash only He can only work approx 6 hour days so anything longer he will come back and the first hour is charged at the higher rate. My project involved removing the metal ceiling in the mudroom, installing drywall and insulation in ceiling and trim around the top. If he was faster, I would have had him seal the corners and paint as well. this is a small job so finding a contractor at a very busy time was difficult hence I looked for a handyman. A couple of pieces of drywall were cut short so the trim could not cover the gap and the small piece of trim that had been put up came away from the ceiling that night. After a full two days, it was not even close to being complete so I decided to have someone else complete the project. I requested an invoice at the time and by email but did not receive anything.

My front patio looks fantastic! I wanted clean lines and a wall to put my numbers on and give a bit of separation fro the street the only reasons i did not give 10/10 are as follows: 1. I paid $400 to have white wall and dark grey patio. I was here for the wall pouring and when I queried the color was told that plain concrete is what is considered "white" which has not been my past experience but may be so here. I was not here for the patio so not sure if colour was added to the concrete but both look exactly the same. 2. there was a lot of dirt dug up for the foundations which was all taken away but this left large holes that I then had to have dirt delivered to fill it in (that took a lot of effort on my part with no wheelbarrow) 2. I wanted a very smooth wall but there a big bubbles where they weren't taken out sufficiently by the vibrating machine. they get larger in the direction of completion. a couple of things to note that I wish I had known: 1. I had not asked for a wide enough path but due to a minimum order, I am unable to get the additional part needed without considerable cost. 2. there was a lot of dirt dug up for the foundations which was all taken away at the time but this left large holes that I then had to have dirt delivered to fill it in (that took a lot of effort on my part with no wheelbarrow) 3. the gas line was dug up by accident which meant my gas was turned off. fortunately, the gent came back and turned it on for me. the neighbor was not happy however. I would definitely recommend them as the finished look is terrific!

it took 12 months to complete 1 window even though I originally ordered two. as previous posts note, if you have a timeframe and other contractors waiting then do not use brock. here is my timeframe: 17 July 2015 - Scott gave quote for several different choices 24 July - I ask about two in particular and scott says 8 weeks to deliver 25 july - I ask if install is possible for 11 sept and scott advises the office needs to rebook another appointment for him 29 july - I email saying I have still not heard from the office but he says he is available Friday. 12 August - scott finally returns and the contract is signed. he says don't call the office or you get pushed to the back of the pile. of course I take this as a joke. 1 sep - installer is due but did not show up 9, 12, 16 sept - emailed with no response until 16 when charlotte advised he could come the latest by 19 September. I reminded her that the windows needed to be installed prior to the stucco 17 sept - Frank, the installer came (he had been ill) to check the measurements. he confirmed the windows would be installed prior to the stucco and my 82 year old inlaws arriving (they couldn't sit in the house in winter with huge open holes in the walls) 20 oct - I email charlotte after leaving several messages on the phone with none being responded to. it is now 10 weeks since the contract was signed. the inlaws arrive on 29th and the stucco starts on 2 November! I called frank who said only charlotte could arrange the installation dates and times 21 oct - charlotte calls to say she hasn't even ordered the windows from the suppliers! she blamed it on waiting for frank to respond to a query she had on a measurement but he doesn't use a computer? then she says that because there are only 2 windows ordered they will not split the order. (i could have had the stucco people leave the side of the house where the bay window was going till last but she refused) the bay window and takes longer to get from the manufacturer so if I still want the bay then both would not be delivered and installed until 17 November but if I cancelled the bay then she could have the plain window installed by someone else on the 9 or 10 November. 11 nov - the window was installed however I noticed there was a cut up into the wall and a scrape on the inside piece so emailed scott. who offered to take a look. I said he didn't need to if frank or the installer would come back to fix it. nov 20 - scott says he has enquired if it is a service issue dec 3 - I ask scott how long this should take 5 feb - the installer returns and fixes the wall but no one even told him about the piece that needs changing and he doesn't have any in the van! 31 mar - email scott again who apologises and says he will get on it. 24 may - I email again! 26 may - scott advises that diane from the office will call to respond 8 july - finally done!!! note that scott and frank and the final fellow all appeared shocked that i could not get 2 windows installed or that it took a year to happen but no one was able to get anything done.

Hi There Ms. J, it's unfortunate to hear you're unhappy with your experience. We do apologize that the timeframes given were hard to accommodate. We tried every avenue to rectify the situation and have on record great efforts to meet your needs for specific install dates and times, and we're sorry we just could not satisfy you.

The issues you encountered were not because of a lack of effort on our ends, we worked to accommodate all your needs but it wasn't satisfactory in your eyes and we apologize for that and are glad your project has since been completed.

Thank you for your feedback.

The door looks great! Mike came promptly to give me a quote and was able to come back to install exactly when I asked. He took the old door away, cleaned up and was very personable. I am super happy with both the quality and look!

I am an aussie with no idea about living in this climate. i decided to buy a house in oakville in the middle of the snow snorm and wanted to ensure that i wouldnt have any problems! i checked the site for top ratings (the best rated doesnt come first?) and read the reviews and checked their credentials. Vito had the best and i now know why! i asked questions constantly - like can i take down this wall, how could i put in a dog door, what does this do and on and on. he answered every question and came up with some great solutions. he was able to accommodate me on short notice and was very personable! Arrived a few minutes early - perfect. had everything he needed, including a ladder and had to squeeze into tiny space to get pictures. everything in plain english too. even my agent was very impressed! i would recommend his service 100%. was even happy to answer questions after the inspection! and the report was great and included additional links and everything he had talked about. Thanks Vito

Thanks for the great review. Also you are correct, the top rated companies do not always come up first. Homestars should look into that. :-) It is my policy to be there for my clients well after the initial inspection. If you require any assistance or need advice regarding the home, please contact me. Thanks again....... :-)
