We first contracted Snow Valley to renovate our bungalow main floor including a new kitchen, all new hardwood flooring and a new stone fireplace. The results exceeded our expectations. Rod and his crew are exceptionally skilled and knowledgeable. They are patient, accommodating and professional. Most recently, we had them back to reno our ensuite bath. We didn't think we could be more impressed than the first time, but once again, the results were gorgeous and the workmanship perfection. We can't say enough good things about our experience with Snow Valley. Thank you Rod, Dave, tiler Rod and the rest of the crew, for truly making our home our dream home.

From the initial consultation to the installation, the team a Closets By Design were helpful and professional. Vadim designed a few alternatives for my small walk-in closet to maximize the type of storage I wanted and suggested I add a bank of shelves in my husband's reach-in closet for his hats and shoes. When our installer, Mark, was finished, it was like the closets had always been there! We would definitely recommend Closets By Design. They met all our expectations, and more.

After damage to a small area in finished basement, we searched HomeStars to find someone who could stretch carpeting back into place. We found Abraham and Multiple Choice Flooring. He came out on a Saturday afternoon to give us a quote. While he was there, we asked him to give us a further quote to install some new laminate flooring in an area adjacent to the carpet which had also been damaged. We hired him on the spot to do both jobs. He was very accommodating to work us into his already busy schedule so I could get my basement back together for Christmas entertaining. Abraham and his partner are punctual, very polite, consultative (as they told my husband what they were doing along each step of the way) and time-efficient. The entire job was finished in three hours and we couldn't be more pleased with their work. We would definitely recommend Multiple Choice Flooring for your flooring installation needs. They really do mean "no job too small", so do not hesitate to give them a call. Thanks guys!

After looking at some DIY options, I turned to HomeStars in search of a company to customize my small (approx. 45 square feet) walk-in closet in my master bedroom. This is where I found Kwik Kloset. I left a message and Brian Corcoran called me back the next day. I told him what I was looking for and gave him the measurements of my closet, and he sent me a couple of design options. They were both professionally presented, which made it very easy to visualize. I placed my order with Brian and agreed upon an installation date - approximately two weeks from the order date. Brian was such a pleasure to deal with throughout the entire process. He took care to protect my new hardwood floors, and even took a dust pan of debris away with him. The finished product is gorgeous. Exactly what I was hoping for. In my opinion, if you are considering a closet organization system, don't waste your time and effort with the big box stores or IKEA. Kwik Kloset offers exceptional value, quality of product and pride of workmanship. You can't go wrong.

Thanks Bev!!! An astonishing number of people attempt to re-design and build their closets themselves. In fact we often get called in after a failed attempt to do so. While any installed service is going to cost more than a DIY project, having the right design, quality products, and professional installation ensures the result will be what you really need and will last a lifetime (guaranteed).

Thank you again for your comments,

Tom

After shopping around for a new double door entry system for our home, I finally decided to go with Brock Windows and Doors in Brampton. Their showroom is second to none. The displays of glass and door styles and colours really helped with my decision. Most other places I looked had half a dozen samples in stock and expected you to select from a brochure. I met with Kevin the sales manager. He did absolutely everything to help me make a decision I would be thrilled with. He asked questions about details I had not even thought of, like the colour of the hardware, the colour of the sill, etc. I will say that Brock was not the least expensive of the places I researched, but for the service and quality of end product. the difference in price was negligible! Kevin really sharpened his pencil as they say. In addition to Kevin, we dealt with Harry, the installer. We had a couple of little issues when he came out to measure, but Harry made some suggestions and, on the day of installation, everything went perfectly. He and his partner consulted us every step of the way to ensure we were satisfied with the progress. Finally, thanks to Angelica, our dedicated customer care rep. She kept the lines of communication open so that we knew where our order and delivery stood every step of the way. Value to me is more than just the lowest price. It's a collaborative, positive experience from that first contact with the company to receipt of the end product. 10 gold stars to Brock Windows and Doors ... outstanding value for my money.

We had used Vince of Strong Arm last year to change some posts and he did a very good job. So this year, we decided to have him back to replace our deck. The demolition and the framing went well. He then asked us for a further instalment for more materials (to start boarding). That was on July 6th. After several promises to return, and claims of personal problems, but all the while promising to return, today is July 22nd and he has not come back, either with boards or with the funds that were advanced to him in good faith. Our entire summer has been ruined. We have started legal proceedings, but still have no deck. Clearly, I would not recommend anyone have dealings with Vince or Strong Arm Decks & Fences of Brampton. Sadly, a lesson learned by us.

We first came across Paint Core at a Toronto Home Show in 2013. After spending considerable time investigating the cost and process involved in first replacing our existing kitchen cabinets and then refacing them, we were left overwhelmed with both cost and time to complete the projects. We attended another Home Show in 2014 and came across Paint Core a second time. This time, we saw that they had the endorsement of Drew and Jonathan Scott - the Property Brothers. So, being big fans, we decided to call Paint Core out to give us a quote. Omar came out (at a time convenient to us!), and brought some sample colours based on pictures we had sent him. His colour suggestions were exactly what we had envisioned. We had two main concerns about painting. One was alleviated with his colour recommendation. The other, which in all honesty we took a leap of faith, was how the finished product was going to look as we were painting oak cupboards with a prominent grain. He said, "Trust me. They are going to look fantastic." And they do! The process couldn't have been easier. Nick came one day and removed all the cabinet doors and drawers. The only thing we had to do was empty the drawers (NOT THE CABINETS!). He also removed all the hinges and existing cabinet hardware. Omar and Farooq came back in two-weeks time and sanded and sprayed all the boxes and exposed oak fronts that couldn't be taken into the shop to be sprayed. They sealed everything completely! There was absolutely no overspray anywhere. The next day, Nick came back to install our newly sprayed doors and drawers and our new hardware ... and our 25 year old honey oak kitchen was immediately transformed into the 21st century. It looks fantastic! One of the things we found out immediately is how easy the spray finish is to keep clean! We went with a Cloud White finish and greasy finger prints and food marks wipe clean away. In summary, we would most definitely recommend Paint Core Finishes to anyone looking for a cost effective, hassle free and equally beautiful alternative to replacing or refacing your kitchen cabinet. We already had our backsplash and countertop in place, but even if you are changing those, you still can't beat a Paint Core finish. They deliver on their promises and when Omar says, "Trust me.", you most certainly can! We went from thinking we needed a full kitchen remodel to loving our kitchen just as we did the day we moved in. Thank you Omar, Farooq, Nick and Paint Core Finishes!

At approximately 1 pm this past Saturday, November 23, 2013 (the first "coldest night" of the season), we discovered our furnace wasn't working. As we already had a maintenance contract for our furnace with Direct Energy, we gave them a call. Their service technician was here shortly after 3 pm (they had told us between 2 pm & 6 pm). Unfortunately, it was discovered that our 25 year old furnace was "done". The heat exchanger was cracked (as verified to us by their internal camera). We were provided with a couple of space heaters (we already had three of our own, but they also left us with two) and arranged for their sales rep to come out. He was here by 5 pm. Ken was here til almost 7 pm (again, on a Saturday night), explaining all our options. There was no pressure. He was very knowledgeable and thorough in his explanations, regarding both equipment and financing options. We decided to replace both the furnace and the central air (as it was also 25 years old). During the inspection it was noted that our rental hot water tank should also be replaced. Our installation appointment was set for first thing Monday morning. After sleeping on our decision, we decided on Sunday to upgrade the furnace unit we had chosen. We called Ken (as he had given us all is contact details). He was back out SUNDAY to write up the new order. At 9 am Monday, a crew of five technicians arrived. They worked away until about 4 pm. The crew was professional, courteous, tidy and skilled. We had other contractors in our home at the same time, and they co-ordinated with them regarding the timing of the water shut off. My husband, being a former HVAC technician, kept an eye on the progress and was very pleased. Because of the size of the job (furnace, air & HWT), two fellows returned on Tuesday to complete the air conditional hook-up; however, when they left Monday night we had plenty of heat and lots of hot water. We were extremely satisfied with the high level and professionalism of service we received from all the people we encountered from Direct Energy this past weekend. We would not hesitate to recommend them.

Hi Bev,
Thanks for taking the time to write this review. It's important for others to see how great the service was from start to finish. The fact that your husband worked in the HVAC industry and was happy with the work is a great compliment. Thanks!

We recently hired The Home Improvement People to do a renovation on our main bathroom. Having always done our own home renos, we were sceptical about hiring a contractor. After our meeting with Ben, we were satisfied that we were making the right decision. From demolition to final installation, Kris and his crew Harvey and Andy, were professional, knowledgeable, friendly, skilled and just a pleasure to have in our home. They made suggestions, consulted with us at each step of the process, were patient with our questions and concerns, and regularly checked with us to see if our expectations were being met. They finished ahead of schedule and the bathroom looks amazing. Our expectations were definitely exceeded. Simply put, if you are hesitant about hiring a contractor, without a doubt we would recommend The Home Improvement People.
