We put in a new shed last year and wanted it to look a little more integrated into the yard. They took out all of the old grass and replaced with new sod, trimmed overgrown bushes, cleaned up the flower beds, added mulch, and put down a lovely stone pad in front of the shed. The guys worked very hard and completed it in just one day.

We were looking to replace an old eavestrough on the front of the house that included the attached neighbours. Just finding people to come out and quote was a hassle - one guy came over and gave us a quote, then called a few hours later to say he made a mistake and upped his price by 40%! On the other hand, dealing with Westwood was simple and convenient. I never actually met Tony, in fact, the entire process from initial quoting, to arranging to get the work done, to invoicing was taken care of with email and a couple of phone calls. In the end, the work looks great and the price was right. A hassle-free experience.

We had suffered with springtime leaking on and off again for years and needed to get the roof fixed once and for all. We had a new roof put on about 6 years ago with another company (very cheaply) but learned the hard way that you get what you pay for. They basically just slapped yet another layer on top of the old and that's part of the reason why it failed again so quickly. Jason broke the news that we needed a completely new roof by spending well over an hour with us on his first visit explaining, in detail, what needed to be done, why, and how much it would cost. With the many old layers being removed, a structural problem with the chimney was uncovered but was dealt with quickly and didn't hold up the project at all. Jason answered every single phone call (that's worth hiring him right there!), made a number of visits to the house and definitely made the entire process a smooth one.

We had really let our old kitchen go and knew it needed a complete renovation. When Mark first saw it, he smiled and said, "well, there's nothing to save here". As the project got underway we uncovered a few surprises that often come with renovating a 100 year old house. The worst being one of the exterior walls of the kitchen was completely rotten and needed to be replaced. Mark and Ron took it in stride and made us feel comfortable knowing they had the experience to handle the situation. Renovating is no fun but whenever problems were encountered, Mark was reassuring and and we never felt overwhelmed. The end result is a kitchen we are proud of. I made it clear upfront that I was all about the details and the fit and finish is excellent. Throughout the process, every supplier from the electrician to the plumber to the floor refinisher showed up on time and were pleasant to deal with. We have 2 dogs and this kind of scheduling was extremely helpful. And this speaks to the number one reason why we can recommend Ashton Renovations and that's communication. Every phone call was answered by Mark (I don't ever remember getting voicemail), every email was returned the same day, and every question and concern was dealt with promptly. In the world of contracting, this is rare if not unheard of.
