We called Burleigh Electric after the last storm knocked out power to our house. We were concerned that there was something wrong with our electrical system, as all of the other houses in our neighborhood had power. When the electricial showed up at our house, he saw a problem with the line, and said that he needed a branch cutter to remove a limb on the power line. So - my husband drove him to his house to pick up the brach cutter and brought him back to our house. To make a long story short, the guys power equipment (chainsaw) broke down in our driveway - he spent a half hour trying to fix it. He was very apologetic about this, and when asked by my husband if we would be charged for this "fix it time" he said no. When we received the bill, not only were we charged for this time, but we were charged for 30 minutes of "travel time." I guess we were charged for the 5 minutes of travel to and from our house, as well as the time it took for my husband to bring him (with OUR GAS and OUR TRUCK) back to his place to get the limb cutter. When I spoke to the woman who handles the billing, she was unsympathetic. Although this guy seemed like a decent electrician, we can not recommend this company. There has to be an electrician in the Portland area that can provide good service as well as good CUSTOMER service. Sadly, it's very hard to find in southern Maine.

Approximate cost of services:
$150.00
