Like so many properties in Toronto, our back yard is a postage stamp. We needed a small, pre-built fireplace that is high quality with the style and colour options available to match our patio furniture. We landed on OW Lee's Santorini occassional height firetable - but then couldn't find one in Toronto. We were limited to what was in stock at the few dealers here. Then we discovered that Sherri's Living Large also sold them. A quick inquiry netted a quick response - and a drive to Waterloo the following weekend allowed us to see all of the finishes on full-size examples - plus in the sample kits they had available. Really friendly staff, great price - inexpensive delivery - all added up to an immediate purchase of EXACTLY what we wanted. Definitely worth the drive from Toronto. We'll go back for accessories too - wide choice from quirky to high fashion. Can't thank them enough for helping us.

When we purchased our dryer at The Brick, they couldn't (or wouldn't?) install so we called an appliance installer who used that coil type tubing to connect the dryer to the external vent. In very little time, the dryer just wasn't efficient anymore. We called the Wizard! They replaced the coil with solid tubing, cleaned out the vent at both ends (at the dryer and at the outside wall, put in a new exterior vent and gave us some really good advice to boot! That was about 2 years ago and we've had no issues since... but it's probably time to consider having them inspect and clean it again just to be proactive. We have no doubt that it will be money well spent.

Part of a huge horror story created by a "general contractor" who had his head firmly planted you know where. We needed the "installation" corrected and completed so we could list our home for sale and we were very quickly running out of time. I called New Canadians because there's always a truck in the neighbourhood - they sent me help that arrived after I was done work - and he arrived 15 minutes earlier than expected. Booties on without me asking, very tidy and clean. An amazing change after last week when everything was a mess and filthy. I'm glad I was able to give him a chuckle as he reviewed the work done by the "contractor" - not a clue about how to install a sink - or faucet. He took it out, properly attached the faucet and soap dispenser and had it all done - except, the "contractor", in his crazy mess of mixed up electrical, plumbing and whatever had lost or thrown out one tiny piece that we needed for the Italian-made faucet. No way to get that part at 8 pm! That was all she wrote... or was it? How many professional tradesmen/women will wait around for you to find the item needing installation? Time is money, after all - and if they're not working during that time, they're not doing anything to make money. I came back from the hardware store with a COMPLETE faucet this time - all installed and working beautifully by 10 pm. I'm not saying that this was some unbelievable bargain - and it shouldn't be! These are professional, licensed trades and you get what you pay for - in this case, fast response, polite, clean, kind, generous - and with an understanding of what it's like to be stuck between a rock and a hard place and still didn't gouge me. New Canadians is now my go-to for all my plumbing from now on. And again, I know that perfect scores make people wonder - but you have to understand that I was beside myself with worry about how I was going to get everything done. By calling in professionals (which I should have done from the beginning), I was able to sleep better knowing that every thing that was done was done right. That peace of mind makes me want to score them even higher, but the ten will have to do.

After "general contractor" horrors last week, I needed the real professionals this week to fix everything all over again before we could list our home for sale. Tony must have felt sorry for me - within 18 hours, three fixtures were checked and corrected and three others were installed. And CLEAN! We'd already had the place professionally cleaned - and we were worried - but out came a broom and dustpan to catch the small amount of ceiling popcorn debris that had fallen. I couldn't possibly recommend them more highly. We've found our electricians and we're sticking to them! (I hate to give 10/10 because it sounds suspicious but if you'd had a week like I did last week, you'd be giving them a 15!)
