One of my torsion springs had snapped and after a bit of Googling, I found this company. Site visit was scheduled for the same day and he was able to come by earlier than the scheduled time. Tech told me the avg age of the springs were about seven to eight years so I said to go ahead and replaced both of them after confirming the price. Both were replaced within the hour all while my car was still in the garage. After they were replaced, the door was going higher than I was used to and he adjusted the height for me. He answered all my other questions. Learned a few things I didn't know before.

I had my fence installed by Bytown back in 2011 and for the first couple of years, it was fine. Then we had a bad winter and many of the posts heaved up, happens almost every spring now. I called in reporting the posts for my two gates because the latches were no longer aligned and I couldn’t open my two gates. I have contacted them countless times over the past few years and as mentioned by others, it is very difficult to get after warranty service in a timely manner. It doesn't matter when you call, early spring, they will tell you that the ground is still frozen. Call in June and they may send someone in the fall or not at all. Or they say that they are really busy and need to hire more people. Last fall, I called in again (one gate was OK and the other wasn’t completely off) and I was told that they would schedule me in. No one came last fall. Early May, I called twice and I kept getting told that someone would call me back. Here we are in July now and I still wasn’t able to open my gate so I ended up prying the latch bar with a screwdriver to get it open. As you can see in the pics, the latch has been moved many times already. I will let you imagine what the rest of the fence looks like. Luckily the latch will cover up most of the holes and I use beige caulking to fill the ones I can see. I think I have adjusted the latches myself twice now on this gate. I also keep their sign up in the hopes that someone will see how bad their fence looks now and not call them. The title of this review is the opposite of what is on their sign.

Called them back to trim my cedar hedge again. Same as last time, good communication throughout and all clippings removed. My hedge is back to a shapely wall of cedar. But I only gave them a 9 out of 10 this time because when I called them to setup an appointment, I was told that the person that can schedule me left for the day and I was asked to call back the next day. I would think any company interested in my business would take my info down and call me back.

Membranix came by fix up some leaking tie rods. It was under warranty so I was only charged the assessment fee. The Membranix worker was very patient, spending a fair amount of time on the water test and injecting the exposed tie rods with the polyurethane crack injection. He also did a very good job putting back the insulation.

Good communication with company. I called for a quote and someone called back within 24 hours. When it was time for the cedar hedges to be trimmed, I also got a call the day before. All large trimmings were removed and cedar hedge is nicely shaped again. They even cut the branches that were coming over from my neighbours side and those were picked up as well.

I had a six year old GE fridge that would no longer get cold. Called in the morning and they had a tech out that same afternoon. Unfortunately the first tech couldn't fix it so it had to be escalated. Was not charged for the visits between junior tech and senior tech (five visit total). Senior tech came in and took apart my fridge. He found that my evaporator coils had rusted out and the coolant line was rusted through. GE no longer sold the part but he managed to find it anyways. He had 30+ plus years of experience and knew what he was doing. Fridge is fixed and is colder than ever. Gave me some suggestions to watch out for in the future.

The ceramic tiles (eight or so) in my kitchen were buckling upwards due to the hardwood being installed too tightly. The issue had been ongoing for years and I decided to do something about it after one of my friends went through one of my tiles….my friend was not injured. Bernie came out and took a look at it. He said that he sees this a lot which was somewhat re-assuring since he kind of implied that he could fix it. Since it was a small job, he took time away from his bigger jobs to accommodate me over a course of a few days. He could of quoted me an insane amount or told me that it wasn’t worth it for him but he did not. He took his time and did not rush the repair which included very minor trimming of the tiles. I finally now have a kitchen floor that I can stand on and it doesn’t look like any work was done to it. Both Bernie and Steve did a fantastic job. Thank you.

My furnace and AC was nearing the end of its five year warranty so I decided to get them both inspected. Checked out some websites and found Reliable Home Environment. I filled out an online form during the evening and was quite surprised that they phoned me back the next morning to schedule a visit. I was given an actual time and not a "time frame". The day of, the technician showed up a few minutes before, another pleasant surprise especially since the previous HVAC company I dealt with never showed up on time. The technician got straight to work and was out the door within the hour. Will be contacting them again in the future.

Ring Electric Inc. came by to install three outlet on a dedicated circuit for me. Being in a new home build, I’ve spent a lot of time waiting for trades to show up. It’s nice to know that at least one company can show up on time and the day specified. In addition, all my emails were responded to within 24 hours. Bryan was able to schedule their visit on one of my days off meaning I didn’t have to take additional time off. James and his crew came in and after a brief tour went straight to work, no nonsense. Every step of the way was explained to me and any questions I had were answered adequately. They were very professional and the personal chatter was at a minimum. Everyone stayed on task and I noticed that they weren’t constantly checking their smart phones like some other trades I have dealt with. While installing the extra plug on the upper level (which was cleanly installed), one of the electricians found an issue with the GFI and so an extra task was added to the work order. An unforeseen expense but at least I know it’s working properly now and as I mentioned earlier, I’m in a new home (2010). They cleaned up after themselves and there was very little post clean up I had to do afterwards. I would definitely hire them again and recommend them to anyone looking for electrical work to be done.
