I researched a number of window companies on-line before choosing Clera. I was struck by how overwhelmingly positive the on-line reviews were, both on HomeStars and on other sites. After a lot of digging, I did find a very few negative reviews, but not so severe as to dissuade me. I contacted Clera and had a sales person come to walk me through their products and provide me with a quote. While this was helpful and informative, I wanted to make sure that i was making a wise decision, so I asked to be provided with a local reference. Once I had that, I did a drive-by to look at the windows from the street and then phoned the homeowner to speak to him directly about his experience with Clera, which was very positive. Before committing, I did one last thing which was to visit the factory north of Toronto. I didn't make an appt. to see the manufacturing process, but I spent time in the showroom where the sample windows were installed and you could look at real versions rather than what can fit in a salesperson's travel case. So - all good and I ordered the windows. I didn't track delivery times, but my impression is that they arrived well within the specified period. The installation crew was very good, and everything went very well. It's only been 3 days since installation, but I'm very happy with my choice and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Clera based on my experience so far.

I have been in touch with Lloyd Pest Control Services 3 times - on the phone, in their store, and when they visited my home to place baits (the mice were in the walls and attic, beyond my reach). In each instance I have been very impressed with their knowledge and willingness to tell me what I could do myself to manage the problem myself. In addition, their work has a six month guarantee, so if my mice problem has not been taken care of after 30 days, they will come back free of charge to revisit the problem.

I contacted Stadtke Plumbing & Heating to perform a routine servicing of my hot water boiler. The technician was prompt, polite, and informative. However, when I subsequently contacted the company to carry out some repairs on the system, they would not return my calls and I was unable to get them to do the work. I was forced to seek out a second company, and when they looked at the boiler they told me that had it been properly serviced last time, there would be a tag on the boiler stating the date of the servicing, who conducted the inspection, and the results of the CO2 test - which doesn't seem to have been carried out, and I was ignorant of the need to inquire about it. Consequently I would not recommend Stadtke Plumbing & Heating.

I would caution anyone using Rawlinson Moving & Storage to examine and question the initial quote for moving very carefully. I recently moved from Toronto to Port Hope, into a house I had been renovating over the course of several months. As a result, I was able to move all of my art, clothes, and anything that would go into a box into the house ahead of the scheduled moving date. The quote was based on moving furniture only, from a two-bedroom apartment. I counted, and there were 48 discrete items to be moved. The quote was $1,187.58 which I accepted. On moving day the experience was in general very good - the crew was polite and careful with my belongings. However, when I was presented with the actual bill at the end of a tiring day, it was for $1,699.81 - $612.23 or 51.5% over the estimate. While I paid the bill, I did email the sales rep asking him if he could address what I thought was a significant overage - after all, this was just 48 pieces of furniture from a two-bedroom apartment. Unfortunately, he did not see fit to respond to my inquiry. I'm left with the feeling that the quote was low-balled to get my business and I'd like future potential customers of Rawlinson Moving & Storage to be forewarned so that they can minimize their chances of having a similar experience.
