After getting several quotes and interviewing several companies – we decided to move forward with Reborn Kitchens…and are we ever glad we did. Having been through several renovations, this project definitely had the best communication (which is really key) as well as great trades people (both skill wise and personality wise). The project was scheduled to start to coincide when the rest of the family were on holidays so as to minimize disruption, and the project was started on time, and was completed according to schedule. Chris as the project manager was a pleasure to work with, his passion for delivering a great product was evident as we worked with him throughout this process. He provided some great ideas, and always worked hard to make sure everything was on schedule. Their Cabinet Maker/Installer, Pat Hayes, was a pleasure to work with….very similar to Chris in that he really just wants the customer to be happy…and ensured there was frequent communication to ensure he was delivering exactly what we wanted. Pat is just a stand up individual in general, who is very skilled and knowledgeable from all of his years of kitchen cabinetry…Pat was able to identify potential issues and provide solutions before any issues arose. George their flooring guy was great as well…we had some previous water damage that damaged part of our main level. George sanded and stained the damaged section and blended it in perfectly with the rest of the floor. George was very accommodating in scheduling.

As you can see from my other reviews, I have typically only written favourable reviews of companies I have dealt with. Unfortunately I feel compelled to provide a poor rating to Action Furnace based on the experience I had, and my experience appears to be consistent with how a few other reviews in regards to the level of dishonesty in their service. I found them to be very pushy with respect to needing to purchase a new furnace. Our furnace stopped working last November, and I contacted Action Furnace based on their favourable reviews. Their technician showed up, very pleasant individual. He diagnosed the part attributable to the main failure at $800, as well as a few other parts that would have to be replaced for a total of $1,500. He then proceeded to repeatedly tell me that the repair was a bad investment and I should just purchase a new furnace for between $4500 and $6500). I indicated I was not interested in purchasing a new furnace. He then proceeded to tell me that at this point he cannot verify the main board is functioning until the other parts were replaced, and if a new board was needed that would bring the total price to $2200. He kept pushing for me to buy a new furnace for $6500…so when faced with a bill of either $2200 or $6500, I decided to get a second opinion. I had another company come by and replace the ONE PART that was causing the failure (they charged $300 for the part). One year later, and the furnace is still working great since that repair! I was very thankful I got a second opinion, and very disappointed to see how Action Furnace was so pushy on unnecessarily replacing the furnace. The price I paid to Action was for this Service Call only.

Dealt with Marc in the initial stages, very professional, good to deal with and seemed knowledgeable (their competition wanted 100% payment upfront, Marc was much more reasonable to deal with). Spencer and Rick came to do the install, and put a long day in to get everything wrapped up in the one day. The installation was done very well with great attention to detail. They identified one problem that required some extra labour, which I authorized up to a certain amount, and the extra charge came in roughly half of what was authorized. I would do business with them again.

I hired the Outdoor Lighting Company earlier in the year to repair some light (previously installed years ago by another company). They were professional to deal with over the phone, the technicians showed up on time, diagnosed the problem and fixed it in a timely manner. A couple month later I noticed a few lights were not working (may or may not have been related to original issue), I contacted them and they sent someone out to repair the lights. Even though I was completely satisfied with their first visit, they didn't charge me for the second visit, which was completely unexpected as I thought they were dilligent in the first visit. I would definately recommend this company, as their customer service and communication was very good.

I was very pleased with the quality of the work on the hardwood sanding/staining (which can be quite tricky). They also did a great job on the carpet install. They provided great detail in their quotes (allowing me to save some money by doing some of the prep work myself). There were some minor logistical challenges such as; 1) waited longer than was necessary for their plumber to come back and reinstall toilet and 2) our last stair that was to be carpeted needed some very minor carpentry work first...this took 3 weeks to have them finalize the final 5% of the work. Overall I would definitely recommend this company.

These guys were great. After being told a list of things that could be wrong with our AC unit by another company, I contacted WJ. They fixed a very minor problem quickly at minimal cost. Seemed very knowledgeable and honest. I also had them look at a furnace on another property, and they did what they could to keep the cost down on a bigger repair. I would highly recommend them.
