On the night of Saturday, January 4th 2014, our furnace started making some strange noises (humming, grinding metal). We called Rodman's Heating and Air Conditioning, having a technician paged. The technician (Russ) called back approximately forty minutes later (this was due to his being in someone's basement doing another emergency repair on a furnace). Russ was able to advise us as to the potential issues (venter motor or blower motor), and advised of the emergency service fee. We decided that there was no need for him to come out at 1am and agreed to have him come in the morning after 9am. Russ advised to turn off the furnace, turning it on only heat the home occasionally and only while we were awake. At exactly 9am the next morning, Russ called to advise that he would arrive shortly. When Russ he arrived he turned the furnace on and determined that the problem was with the venter motor (as he had suggested on the phone). He repaired the motor and fixed the furnace within an hour. This being our first hime, we asked Russ a bunch of questions regarding about furnace maintenance, etc. which he answered helpfully. I highly recommend Rodman's Heating and Air Conditioning to anyone seeking HVAC repairs; a company that is professional, reliable, and courteous. Thank you Russ & Rodman's!

Approximately one year ago, I started having issues with the hot water in my shower on certaing days and at certain times. I am in a condo and was convinced it was a building issue. The property management had plumbers check the lines and boosters, but found no problems, so they said it was my unit's problem. I called DanMac Plumbing because I had seen Mike Holmes use this company in the past. An employee of DanMac was able to check out my shower issue within 48 hours of calling (it wasn't an emergency). The plumber checked the lines in my unit and found no problems. He replaced the shower cartridge (although the old one was OK) and adjusted the scald screw for me. He was very professional and courteous, even teaching me about basic plumbing and home maintenance. He took his inspection one step forward by examing the lines in hallways of my condo building. He determined that my unit was not in the main supply line, rather on a pipe off of the main line. He suggested that could be the issue.and wrote a report reflecting that so I could show that to the property management. Unfortunately, I still have the issue but I now know 100% that it is not my problem (it is the building's problem). Thank you DanMac for your outstanding service!

In Hi-Rise condominiums the fluctuation of hot and cold water can sometimes be a tricky and time consuming process to determine the exact cause. Your approach is correct as you have now taken steps to ensure the problem is not in your unit and it is now the building's responsibility to address.
We are happy to have helped out.
Thank you.

We came home one evening to the smell of gas in our condo. We had used the gas oven earlier in the evening but it had even off for hours. Enbridge came in and tagged it "do not use" until it could be fixed. I called one company that led me along for a couple of days until I got fed up and called Pambis Appliance Repair. I spoke to the owner (Peter Pambis) directly and he came out the same day to fix the stove. It cost around $300 but the problem was resolved. It was a positive and pleasant experience. A couple of weeks ago, I had a leak coming from my dishwasher. I knew how great Pambis was so I didn't hesitate in calling them again. They fixed my dishwasher within a couple of days for approx. $400, but including some plumbing repair which doesn't come cheap. If you need an appliance fixed, call Peter Pambis. He is professional, courteous, and friendly.
