David was referred to us by a construction supervisor working at my husband's company (my husband's company specializes in building custom homes and other new home developments in the lower mainland, british columbia). You would think this would result in good service and follow-up. They had put in the stamped concrete pathway in early fall 2006. It is now July 2007 and we have been trying to get Crossroads back to finish the job by sealing the walkway. My husband repeatedly called and was told that they would be there on Monday, on Thursday etc. Each time, they did not show up, there was no courtesy call to inform my husband why they were not there. When my husband called, a myriad of excuses were used - it's too wet, wait until the weather is better etc. Now the weather is better - the last excuse they used was it is too hot! Lesson learned here is always hold back a more substantial portion of the payment otherwise you will never see the job completed.

Regret choosing Elegant Woodworking for the cabinetry in our new home construction. Peter had met with us early on during construction. We repeatedly requested detailed drawings and configurations for our cabinets and never got them. Cabinetry was to have been completed in May06, it took 4 months!!! When we moved in, the kitchen cabinets were still not done until 1 month later. Not happy with workmanship or Peter's attitude. This is clearly one guy who takes on too many jobs and thus sacrifices quality & attention to detail. This guy was a no-show for scheduled meetings and several times kept us waiting for more than 1 hour without even a courtesy call to cancel the appt or inform us of his tardiness. This guy would listen to what we had to say,but he didn't take notes and when it came time for the work to be done, he/his workers incorrectly installed a cabinet instead of an exposed bookshelf cabinet as we had repeatedly requested. After this mistake, instead of taking down the wrong cabinet, he glued a tacky oversized 'molding' around the cabinet, and rendered useless space on both corners. This tacky molding was taken away after much protest from us and reduced in size, but still looks tacky. Other flaws: they installed "dented" cabinets which required them to come back 2 times to rectify base of lower cabinets/kitchen island were 'unfinished' i.e. scratched/dented laminate base with nice looking cabinetry?!
