We had shutters, blinds and other items installed by Kingsway on three levels of the house, some 34 windows of all shapes and sizes plus various sliding doors, patio doors and windows. The sales consultant we first met (Habib) was knowledgeable. Soft-spoken gentleman with a excellent knowledge. His breadth of knowledge helped us. In addition to Habib, ALL the superb people at Kingsway guided us. Without such guidance, we would likely have taken much more time to bring ourselves up to speed. All of Kingsway's people, incl’g the founders and owners, gave excellent advice and guided us on every aspect of the job. We have a lot of windows and the cost of the shutters and blinds part of the job was approximately C$27,000. If we paid a bit more than we would have to the chains, it was certainly well worth it: Kingsway gave good advice and saved us TIME, that most precious of all 'things'. The installation is not entirely without glitches: cords for the expensive blinds came off upon the very first and second use; and (b) the remote to operate the large sliding window do not work. We reported both issues to Kingsway and Elizabeth and Marie needed us to send some information. I did not get to this yet: first a medical matter took longer to resolve than expected due to family exigencies. It is not Kingsway’s fault the repairs are not yet done. I am however puzzled that Hunter Douglas has allowed these well-known issues to remain outstanding for years. I note that others have had the same issues and one expects greater reliability from Hunter Douglas who position themselves as a premium brand. It is also unfair to their distributors, and especially unfair to Kingsway. Kingsway is a fine example of how a boutique, a specialist, owner operated enterprise (as Kingsway is) can so often be superior to the big-name chains. We want to thank Marie and Elizabeth by name for the extra mile to help. ---------- We visited Kingsway again recently to choose stair carpets for two stair cases. I was not able to follow through right away and am thankfu that Kingsway were so understanding that I took longer than I said. We plan to get the work done by Kingsway very soon.

We got 2 quotes: one from [competitor name removed--Ed], the other via Home Depot . Ultima appears to be part of a group of installers whom H-Depot seem to outsource to. Procedure appears to be: You go to Home Depot and they (not you) select the installation firm available. Although the Brock quote was higher , I felt that [competitor name removed--Ed] a specialist (because e they focus only on doors and windows) would know more than a generalist would. Although the [competitor name removed--Ed]quote was a over a thousand five hundred $ more , I was thinking it might be worth it and give the family peace of mind. At about the time my wife saw what H-Depot had, H-Depot started promotions. Home Depot first offered 15% off , and later announced a 20% off promo. On $30,000 that 20% became much more significant, so we went w/ HDepot / Ultima Home Improvement . Things worked out reasonably well. The new windows and doors were installed Feb 2010 . Ultima's team worked well together. Mr [last name removed--Ed] in Sales was EXCELLENT . An honest, straightforward person who educated me on the subj.Ultima's team was perhaps over-burdened in 2009-10. Gov incentives stimulated demand and the volume of work Ultima resulted in the initial installation being overly fast. Initially, quality concerns came up. However, when Ultima was called, they promptly came back and fixed main concerns. (One item remains outstanding, but it is up to me to call them. My wife or I need to be available to review that one item . (Said outstanding item is doesn't bother us at this time. I would recommend Mr [last name removed--Ed]and the company Ultima to friends and colleagues. ( have go thru Home Depot ). So I'd alert friends to wait for MEANINGFUL sales and wait if possible. I am humbled by the helpful response and prompt action by AA Waters & Bowers. The original review , posted 27 Apr 2010, was written by me, Leila [last name removed--Ed](“LS”) . I am the CFO and act also as chief administrative officer for the TLC group . I alerted the one person named in the response . Dr Okhai (“AO”) read my review this morning.. he advised me he felt I had been harsh, especially in tone. Upon reflection I’d agree. Many people are happy with the AA Waters company . We have nothing but goodwill towards them. Their response is impressive : its positive , helpful. They did contact the home of one of the surgeons in the group (who is also the CEO of three-nations group. Accordingly I ask that my review of 27 April be withdrawn ; I’d appreciate the opportunity to correct tone and be fair , and ensure that I am more objective for all , in future. Our CEO , AO said (I quote) I “ went too far , used inappropriate tone, and had insufficient cause to be judgmental. I agree with the AA Waters response . I should have first raised concern directly with them. The following is direct from AO :“ To: AA Waters & Bowers , Sir : We apologize for the hurtful tone used in the post. Our CFO is an excellent , valued person who had a very bad day . We sincerely wish you the very best in ALL your endeavors , present and future. We were totally unaware of Dr. Okhai's dissatisfaction as it was never communicated to the office. Upon becoming aware of this situation, we immediately contacted Dr. Okhai and left a message to schedule the spring start-up of his lawn sprinkler system.
We look forward to hearing from Dr. Okhai in order that we can be given the opportunity to rectify the situation and do whatever it takes to make Dr. Okhai another one of our many happy and completely satisfied customers.

This refers to single house in Vaughan. Built on a steep gradient (and thus has full walkout basement). Some of Eaves-troughs and down spouts were damaged in storm. Roussel were very effective; gave good advice ; the crew was EXCELLENT. Job was done as quoted. One minor point: the new downspout (vertical) is not quite straight. I did not call Roussel about this--- subject pipe is not all that visible, being in corner . Work was done on time , as specified, and I found the workers pleasant and easy to speak with . The following concerns a 20 your old house in York Region. During the 3 most recent summers I began to have increasingly higher concerns about "pests" , mostly stinging-type ( wasps , bees and other . I suppose the pests regarded ME as the pest ). The pest population had grown to the point where kids and others felt insecure using the yard. I was worried children and other visitors might be stung , and , worse, could have adverse allergic reactions. I called Kevin of GTA in late summer/ early fall 2009 . The owner Kevin seemed to have considerable knowledge ; and much experience . He was thorough in his review of the problem areas . I had the good fortune to have found a knowledgeable , thorough and fair person. He referred to some documents and double checked to assure that the solution he had in mind was consistent with rules applicable for our area. I stayed out of his way so he could do his work, but I did ask what he could do on another related pest matter. Kevin corrected me ; he gave me updated info and I was glad to learn I was mistaken about certain other bugs . He educated me : those other bugs did not pose any danger . It was a psychological relief that we had no need to harm or remove the latter . Kevin arrived well equipped . Having examined the problem areas, he took care of the matter so that visitors and others did feel SAFE , and comfortable in the backyard. He even came back the next day to check status, to take the trouble to review things himself. It saves so much time , energy when we all, customers AND businesses alike, treat each other fairly. This review came in a few weeks ago. I have been unable to respond to this review for some time....as I have been overcome with emotion regarding this particular review. I still cannot convey enough gratitude. I have been lost for words. Until now. .... "We all wish to be accepted by others, to be successfull within our occupations. It is a basic human instint to wish for honesty and kindness from others. However daily we see acts of unkindness and injustice overall from the general public. No one is immune to these negative impulses, we all are quilty of sins. Although when we as humans rise above greed and dishonest behavior, the walls of oppression fall. Only then are we able to grow in a positive direction, together as one. With never ending gratitued I give you my thanks in return.
