Update: The company stood behind its 100% satisfaction guarantee. They returned and addressed my concerns, explaining a small house can be completed quickly by pros. Regardless, they redid the job, provided good tips, and even replaced my dryer vent hose with a new one I had on hand. A class act. I am now fully satisfied and will recommend Dial ONE to others. 10/10 new rating. Original: Two techs arrived at 9:45 a.m. and were done in 50 minutes flat. You might expect that from a fly by night, but not from a company that has been around for years. The promise was for approx 2 hrs of time. I complained: I was promised 2 hrs. The tech responded I was getting 8 years of experience and two guys. They normally work solo, but the other truck was out of commission, so they were doubling up today. Does that mean they doubled up on appointments? Customers always expect years of experience from their service providers. Many local industry websites state a range of 2 to 4 hrs for cleaning ducts, using two techs. My job was less than 1 hr. They forgot to take out the furnace filter. A clean Carrier original, costing $60 was destroyed and shown to me afterwards, caked in dirt. Isnt that also a sign the ducts can use more cleaning time? I have a large intake vent in the basement. Looking at the screws, there was no attempt to remove the vent. The tech said there is a satisfaction guarantee, and I can bring it up to the company. Here I am, wanting to learn more.

Irving and I have been in contact. We are working on a date to address concerns. Whether or not the workmanship is good or not in my opinion. I will work to my best ability to ensure he will be confident with us. This is most important!!
Updates will follow.

After the huge rain storm in July, we sprung a leak in the roof. I suppose that is when most of us begin searching for a roofer. A contractor I know and trust has used YVP Renovations for a number of his jobs. I highly recommend you contact the owner Walter for all of your roofing needs. He not only has years of experience in roofing, but also provides a straight forward and honest approach in doing business. Okay, his English isn't great, but after a conversation you can tell that you will be getting what you need/want at a reasonable price, without sacrificing quality. His pricing was on the lower end of three quotes received (incredible wide range) -- the workmanship and materials used were all top notch. I asked for and received top-of-the line shingles (Architectural requested) along with a great, long warranty, as well as a protective ice shield for the lower part of the roof all around, roof papering everywhere else, and many new roof components -- it was a comprehensive list. This is basically a family run business with the brother, son and others as needed helping out. Walter is a nice, personable guy. At the end of the day, a warranty is just a piece of paper. I believe if I had a leak (an unlikely event) Walter would come over immediately to fix it. After meeting with him and seeing him work (two day job), you just know that you will be taken care of. The crew was extremely clean and there was not one bit of residue left of the old shingles and mess afterwards. It has rained a few times since, including one huge downpour -- we are very pleased Walter was on the job.

We came across Josh and crew doing work for a neighbour and decided to give them a try to do some basic removal of deadwood of two large maple trees. I was impressed by their tree climbing and ability to remove some really high "dead" branches. They were thorough with their clean up. Overall, pleasant to work with and good results.

I asked for information via email and promptly recieved a good overview of what to expect as well as a quote in advance. They truly delivered: cleaned all ducts and vents, plus furnace cleaning(gas),fan cleaning, and sanitizing. Interestingly the furnace a/c coil cleaning was included while another company which quoted wanted to do a special trip for this, and charge an additional fee of approx $100, plus their duct cleaning quote was much more expensive than Dial One. I dealt primarily with Joe who has ownership in company. There is comfort in that. Very personable, answered all my questions, and did a thorough job. He didn't try to sell me a new furnace like the other company (mine is still quite good and adequate for a small house-thank you). Appointment time was confirmed and reconfirmed just prior to time of arrival. Higly recommend Dial One. We are happy -- and so is the cat!

Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
Find out how long they need to do the job. If it is only around 30 minutes, I would look elsewhere.
