I was hoping for a good quality work as I have received from this company when I replaced my furnace and A/C. Instead the humidifier installation was terrible. The installer did not bother to link the humidifier to my programmable thermostat saying only it couldn't be done despite the thermostat instructions stated otherwise. Secondly he didn't have enough aluminum hose so he patch it with plastic hose saying he doesn't want to come again. Thirdly he ran the hot water small pipe inefficiently.

Brock windows offered me the best price from all companies I've inquired. I wasn't too happy with the installation though. They affixed the frames with screws in each frame corner. By doing so they made holes in the vinyl frame structure and the rain water dripped inside the drywalls damaging them. After one year two of the four windows developed moisture inside but they replaced them at no cost after I called them. Great customer service! If I had to re-do this job again I would: 1)chose without hesitation frame-to-frame windows and not keeping the old wooden frame. Yes it costs more but it is worth of. 2)ask the agent to send the best installers they have. 3)make sure to remind Brock windows to give those $50 they advertise for recommendation if they were recommended to me by a former customer of them.

Company Response

Dear Dan:
Thank you for your review. This would be an unusual circumstance, so you would think we would be able to locate you in our system, however I have not had any luck. So without any details, I am going to respond to the best of my ability. I'm glad that our service department replaced your problem windows at no cost to you. Obviously, by the sound of your review, this should have been avoided in the first place. I can't respond to that without more detail. I'm not sure whether you chose to do your windows retrofit to save money? If you have old frames, you should always choose brick to brick (frame pull)installation. All of our installers are window wise certified. Any installer that we find does not meet our standards would not last long with Brock Home Improvements. We always pay the $50 referral fee when we are aware of it. If the representative neglects to record it on the contract, usually we receive a call from the customer reminding us, and we are happy to send the money. This is after all the best (and cheapest) form of advertising there is. I would love it if you would call me and let me know which job this is so I can check into the details. My toll free number is 1-800-449-3808. Barb/

This company replaced a window and a patio door at my house and I was very satisfied overall. The door was a bit higher than the actual opening but they managed to adjust it in no time. The window keeps the room cool in summer and warm in winter as it is filled with Argon gas and has a titanium coating. Initially I ordered the door with no key lock but I changed my mind afterwards and they provided the door with key lock in same price. Very good products and professional installation.

Great company to deal with, young and professional people. They installed a LiftMaster garage door opener with fingerprint access, very quiet (runs on a DC motor) on my Wayne-Dalton garage door with torsion system. IMHO is the best combination between a garage door (Wayne-Dalton) and an automatic opener (LiftMaster - Residential Jackshaft Garage Door Opener - Model 3800). This opener is way better than a chain or belt opener as is space-saver and very quiet. It has also a lock and a back-up battery. An affordable state of the art!

This company had given me the best pricing on a Wayne-Dalton insulated garage door. I've also chosen the door to have windows as I wanted to save some electricity. The best part here is I could chose double thermal windows instead the default glass windows with only $125 more. This way all door is insulated and I have windows too. The product is great however I wasn't that satisfied with the installation. The installer didn't clean-up after as he was "in a hurry" and he left a mess in my garage. He also covered (with the door lock system) an important warning affixed on the door which said "do not cover or paint" and stated the door must be installed with 4 handlers. But no handler was provided. They offered to put one handler after I called but I installed an automatic opener instead from Pro-Door.

Being left with an electrical wire cut from a previous window installation (see my comment on Torwin company) I called The Handyman Connection as a neighbour referred them to me. They re-routed the wire according to the electrical standards but they left the round holes they did in drywall poorly covered with plaster. I had to do myself again the patching and painting.

I have had a window knock-out and replacement (with a door) job. The owner was very helpful with explanations, ideas and advises. On the contrary the installer cut an electrical wire when he did the knock-out and left half a living room plus a bathroom without electrical power. He left the wire inside the wall and finished his job. I asked him not to put the door trimmings when he was done as I had to do the wire re-routing in the near future. So he added only a few nails on trimming. I called the Handy Man Connection company and they re-route the wire. After that I called Torwin again to come and attach the trimmings for good and they said they would not come unless we pay for that.At the end we didn't pay more (but it took a while) and the door looks fantastic now.
