A couple of months ago I visited Denca to discuss changing my kitchen countertop with Rosita, one of the sales designers. It was during our conversation that Rosita suggested that replacing my laminate countertop with a stone countertop was probably not my best move if I didn’t intend to do a renovation that also included cabinetry at the same time. Her advice made complete sense and caused me to shelve the idea and opt for a countertop resurface from another company. While a major function of Rosita’s job is sales, she chose not to try and sell me a stone countertop. She was the only person whom I spoke to about changing my countertop who instead of giving me an estimate, recommended that I step back and take a broader view of the subject—to see the countertop in relation to the entire kitchen and not just as a single upgrade. For people involved in sales, saying no to a potential sale is not always the easiest thing to do. Rosita clearly put my interests front and centre and for that I am extremely appreciative and most grateful. As someone who really appreciates excellent customer service, I will make Denca my first stop when the time comes to give my kitchen a full makeover. I should also add that I was turned onto Denca after having seen a Denca-designed and crafted kitchen that was absolutely stunning at an open house. The agent herself was so impressed with the kitchen’s beauty that she even cited in her advertising about the home that the kitchen reno was by Denca.

My experience with Calgary Countertops began a few months ago when I decided the time had come to change my aged kitchen countertop, and I went to Homestars in search of guidance for this project. Until then, I had never even heard of Calgary Countertops let alone knew that laminate countertops could be restored. Impressed by the large number of glowing reviews Calgary Countertops had on Homestars and intrigued by the idea of making my old laminate countertop new again, I contacted the company. From first and ongoing contact with Tim to meeting with Phil to learn what Calgary Countertops could do for me to Jo who magically transformed my well-worn countertop into a thing of beauty, I have only good things to say about the staff. In a nutshell, they promise great service, a great product and a great price and they deliver on those promises. If you look at the many reviews that precede mine, you will read the golden words of very satisfied customers. You might be a bit skeptical about all these reviews that overflow with praise for the company just as I was early on but once you engage with the company and pass through the various stages you will come to realize that all the admiration Calgary Countertops has received is real and true. I strongly recommend Calgary Countertops to anybody who is thinking about restoring or replacing a countertop. As it was for me, resurfacing a countertop was a better option than replacing it, and when you see the remarkable work Calgary Countertops can do, you might be of the same mind too.

I contracted Gravity Electrical to remediate the aluminum wiring and change in the panel box in my home. I was very pleased with all aspects of my interaction with the company. My first contact was with Pelumi who provided an estimate and who always answered my questions promptly and satisfactorily. Carlos was the electrician who did the work and what an affable and likeable fellow he is! From observing him work and chatting with him, I got the impression that he is highly competent at his craft. He is most certainly diligent. I would without hesitation hire Gravity Electrical for any future electrical needs that I have, and I would confidently recommend Gravity to others.

For a long time, I just talked about having my attic reinsulated, but I finally did so last month. The process began in June when I contacted a few companies in search of quotes. Guns and Hoses was the first company to visit and Neil was the representative. Neil was very clear with his explanation of what needed to be done. What impressed me about Neil in his first visit was both his knowledge of what needed to be done and his low-key yet highly- professional business approach. Initially, I booked the work for September, but a situation on my end made it necessary for me to postpone until October. The re-booking was done through Amy and she too was a pleasure to deal with. On the day of the job, Neil and his colleague arrived on time and set about doing their work diligently. Their estimate as to when the job would be finished was almost spot on, so I didn’t have to make any changes to my afternoon schedule. In addition, to reinsulating the attic, they added some soffit vents and changed the bathroom fan. I will certainly contact Guns and Hoses if I have any other needs that fall within their scope of services as I found them to be an excellent in terms of work quality, competitive pricing and customer service and satisfaction.

Over the summer, Sam and Ashley, through their company Outline Creations, renovated two bathrooms in my home, and I couldn’t be happier with their work. It is also worth noting that Outline Creations was one of just a handful of companies that was willing to tackle this work. Some of the other companies I contacted said the project was either too small or too challenging for them. I was very satisfied with how Sam and Ashley managed all aspects of the project. They were great in making sure that they gave me exactly what I wanted and when I was unsure about something, they offered excellent suggestions. Outline Creations is absolutely committed to providing excellent customer service and it shows in their interactions with the client and the skill of their workmanship. Sam and Ashley also bring a unique perspective to their work in that they not only see the work through the eyes of the client, but they also can view it from a more neutral standpoint as Ashely works as a realtor as well. Her ability to see a renovation from how a potential buyer might look at it cannot be understated as she can give suggestions to clients that they might not have even thought about if their knowledge of today’s real estate market is not up-to-date. I would consider Outline Creations for future renovations to my home and would strongly recommend Outline Creations to others. I am not alone in my high praise for them as both my houseguests raved about how lovely the renovated bathrooms were. Thank you, Sam and Ashley!

I've only recently discoverd this site, so I am reviewing all of the companies I have used in the past few years. This review is for service I received in 2011. My neighbour alerted me to the branches of my tree extending into his backyard and growing under the soffits of his home. At the same time he recommended Alpine Arborists to solve the problem. He had hired them a year or so earlier to do some trimming of the trees in his front yard and he spoke glowingly of them. My expereince with them was also very satisfactory. They came on time both to do the estimate and the job itself. They trimmed the offending branches to my neighbour's satisfaction and also trimmed some on my side of the fence. Although it was not a big job, they cleaned up both yards very well. I found both young men who did the work polite and courteous. Regarding the cost, I don't know how competitive the price was as I did not price shop. The neighbour who recommended them thought that the work he had done was extremely fair-priced, so I will assume the same about the work they did for me. I will certainly give them a call for any other tree work I need done and recommend them to others.
