Hired Hotwire to install a new 240v circuit. I intially thought the price was reasonable given the scope of work and materials required. As soon as I mentioned I needed a longer run and a different outlet type, Hotwire surprisingly increased the costs to me an astounding 60%!!! This is unreasonable and very upsetting given the miniscule costs of the addtional materials/labour. Having hired Hotwire multiple times, I thought they would be honest with their pricing, but seems to me they are only really about the profits nowadays. Now I have to find another contractor that is fair and honest.

Dear Steve. At Hotwire, the quote was provided for a single run wire, to which after agreement you requested to change from a 40amp line to a 50amp line and then you revealed you want it to be for Nema Car Charger plug, all of which effect Permit costs and wire gauge costs. We cancelled the contract and refunded you in full as per your last email advising that you will do your own electrical and you wish to run the wire yourself. All of which is illegal to us. We can not allow clients to run their own wires. Since we could not do this job for you, the 30 dollar refund was done asap for you. This review was done on a job that was never done for you, and although we understand you are angry that you wanted to have Hotwire do the job for you, we can not break Ontario Electrical Code rules just to please our customers. Sorry and we hope you find a company that will help you.

We considered and purchased a new luxury Estate from CountryWide because of the lavish and beautiful models they showcased. The model homes were pristine, unfortunately it ends there. The Trades' workmanship they used on the Model homes were NO where near the quality I got from my brand new home. They use poor quality cheap materials. For example the majority of our new windows are now defective from condensation. They cut corners everywhere they can. We just renovated both bathrooms and surprised to find the upgraded tiles we paid for was not even installed under the vanities! The exterior stucco workmanship was a huge eye sore, they had to redo it several times because of Tarion. The Customer Service is non-existent. They answer their calls but to have the work actually completed you need to be on them like hawks. Overall a very poor experience from a Builder that fronts like they are the best. Would highly avoid if you can, unless you want to roll the dice on your new dream home! 1

The house is less than 3yrs old and already these Decora made windows are defective. I have 11 panes that are leaking due to faulty seals. Many complaints about this company and new homeowners left with replacing literally new windows. Here are pics of this mishap!

I am probably one of the hardest customers to please as I expect the very best in craftsmanship and quality at a "fair" price. It took me about 3 mo to find the perfect electrical contractor and after many failed attempts, Hotwire easily made the top pick. Other competing Electrical companies here on Homestars with a "10" rating were EXTREMELY difficult to reach. Voicemails would never go to a real person and would get answered late the next day. Same with emails. On top of that those "Other" companies wanted a cash deal. Who knows if those other ratings are even real! Now comes Hotwire... I can say Hotwire easily came out ahead!! Their price was fair, they were responsive on any queries, and actually cared to make recommendations or put out any concerns in the project. They were able to supply specific potlights I had requested. Oris was an honest and hard working gentlemen and genuinely listened to my concerns. He was very meticulous and ensured not to damage my expensive floors! Overall, a rare and fabulous company. Will not hesitate to do business again. Highly recommended from a discerning consumer!!

Found Contemporary Moldings via an internet search on "Plaster Mouldings". We did not want to go with the typical MDF wood due to the inherent issues with that material and have decided on plaster for its superior construction & design. Plaster molding requires extremely skilled workers and we wanted to choose our contractor carefully. Overall, it was a pleasure to work with Jimmy and his crew. His quotation was accurate and fair. Jimmy was one of the only companies that took the time to come to the house and provide various samples fitting with our home in the evening, unlike other plaster companies! Communication with jimmy was always made promptly. There was not one time I had no issues reaching him. His crew arrived on time and the job was completed as scheduled. Cleanup was great. Best of all we love the new modern moldings and the level of quality was way above my expectations. Pictures to follow... We have no hesitation in recommending Contemporary Moldings and are now ready to do even more work with them on our second floor!

I rarely give perfect scores, but this company went above the call of duty! Perry was very informative and provided great consultation when we were in the inquiry stage for our valance lighting and panel surge protector. We had a few concerns which Perry respected. His company was very professional to deal with and provided us with a detailed quotation. His secretary was responsive to all our correspondance. We could not ask for a better quality install! The ALICO xenon lights are wonderful! The installation costs came in slightly above average, but it pays for a quality job! I would not hesitate to deal with this company again.

Bought Hunter Douglas blinds + Eclipse shutters and the sales rep (Sal) expressed thoughtful design recommendations upon our consultation. We were offered the "Best" discounted price upon signing, but later we were disappointed to find out what we paid verged slightly on the high side. Fortunately Allure Windows was able to match a competitors lower price after we have signed! The installation of the window coverings went smoothly and the installers made sure to protect any vulnerable items. There was an issue with two of the HD blinds and Ryan was helpful and provided us with a Return Authorization number to send back to Hunter Douglas for repair. Overall a good experience thus far!

I am one of the hardest to impress and very particular when it comes to quality craftsmanship and it is important to me that a contractor shows appreciation of one's property. I was referred to Java Electric from Maple Leaf Electric, which they are partners. Antonio was very open and honest of pricing. He was able to accomodate my strict requirements on product selection, which a lot of companies don't. He was also accommodating to have the installation work with my schedule, a Sunday! His workers were very careful with my house and belongings. The potlight installation went smooth. Each potlight was carefully checked to make sure no pipes or electrical lines were in the way. My only complaint was there were slight dirt smudges left on the ceiling, which I had to cleanup afterwards. Otherwise there was minimal cleanup. Overall satisfied.

I bought a Rowe Love seat in Oct 2008 and received it just after the 6-8 weeks that was promised. Within that time I was waiting, I called G.H Johnson to inquiry about the status and I was put on hold for over 40mins!. When it was finally time for the loveseat to be delivered, I was told that the delivery would be between 12 - 3pm. GH Johnson did not want to be involved so they provided the cell of their carrier so that I could correspond with them myself. Despite many of the promises for the time to delivery they finally arrived at 9pm and I wasted a whole day waiting around for them! After receiving the loveseat I wanted a quote for a custom cushion and they could not provide a quote until 2 weeks after! Overall, I am happy with the sofa, HOWEVER, terribly unsatisfied with the company! I would not recommend.

We recently moved into our new construction home and we were furious to find out the Reliance Hot Water tank not functional. We called their customer service line and were redirected a few times. When we finally got someone to listen to our issue they sent someone to have a look at the tank the next day, not the current day. The first company they called could not fix the tank as they did not have the parts. They had to call around for the part they needed. I called Reliance back telling them of the urgency of not having hot water, so they sent another company out the following day. The second company was able to fix the unit, but we are extremely upset that we were without hot water for three days!! I would not recommend going with Reliance just on the fact that they do not do any work in house. Prior to this issue, we spoke to Jennifer Hurd regarding getting a Tankless Hot Water instead of the standard heater and her communication was terrible. Her promises unfulfilled. She never told us what was going on. We always had to follow up. Overall extremely disappointed in Reliance. I would pay to leave this company!

I bought a home from CountryWideHomes which contracted Tri-Stucco to do the work on the stucco front facade. There was an installation issue when they were putting the stucco up the first time and I raised my concerns immediately to John Zita and he was very open to fixing the problem. Although the initial installation could have been done with more care, the issue was resolved timely and I am happy that John has demonstrated care for the proper installation and excellent customer service.

I found Tender Touch moving from this website and they were one of the only moving companies that charged a reasonable price and did not have a minimum amount of furniture to move, unlike other companies. Although we didn't have to move an entire 4bedroom house, we did have the utmost concerns on moving our very expensive furniture. Suffice it to say, Ali and Fred showed up on time and took 100% care on our furniture and more importantly our new house from any damages. I highly recommend this company!
