A section of our ceiling on the main floor collapsed due to a water leak. Soni and his team came to repair a 6'x8' hole and remove the popcorn on the ceiling. He even suggested a potlight installer and made sure they were installed prior to him finishing the ceiling to ensure that once his work was done, we'd be perfectly happy with the results - and we are!! So happy with his work! Completed on time and on budget!! Soni and his his team are professional, friendly, hard working and very reliable. We will recommend to everyone! Thank you Soni!!!

The beautiful silhouette blinds that Michael and his team of installers provided us completely transformed our entire main floor. It looks like a brand new house!! We are immensely pleased with their quality and workmanship. The price was reasonable, timing was exactly what he said it would be, and the installers were neat, efficient, and respectful of our home. THANK YOU MICHAEL!!!! I will definitely refer you to my family, who will all be moving into newly built homes next spring! Yay!

We have half an acre full of grass, trees, flower beds and wall climbing ivy that needed pruning and clean-up. I can't say enough about these guys. Hard workers and professional through and through. Honest, friendly, timely and professional from beginning to end. I would recommend them in a heartbeat. It's hard to find good honest people in any trade, good to see there are still some out there.

Horrible company - if you're looking for landscapers, look elsewhere for a more professional company to work with. I hired Northern Rock, lead by Zachary, back in Aug 2012 after receiving their flyer in my mail. Little did I know, their contract and integrity wasn't worth the paper their flyer was printed on. I paid Zachary and his team to lay down a parking pad in the front yard so that we can park our second car, and also to reface the front porch and add armour stone steps to complete "the look". While Zachary was polite and nice to work with at the beginning, the job was botched right from the beginning. The stones were poorly aligned and terribly crooked, I had to take pictures and draw diagrams to point out how crooked the stones were! Zachary took the feedback well, and he fixed and realigned the stones and eventually completed the job. When it was eventually done, they didn't bother to fill all the gaps between the stones (we had to do that ourselves), a stone was left unglued to the front porch (which they eventually came back to glue, and left a messy dollop all over my step!) and some stones are unevenly laid on the porch so chairs often get caught or snagged when they're pushed from one place to another. Despite all of this, I was still OK with the job because I just wanted it done and over with. By the time the snows started to thaw (Feb/Mar 2013) I noticed that the stones were beginning to sink into the ground and I could see the car wheel grooves. The parking pad was only 6 mths old but it already looked old and tired, and the grooves from the weight of the car were very apparent and ugly! It looks awful and amateurish. I immediately contacted Nothern Rock by email, and at the beginning we exchanged very cordial messages and Zachary replied every day. He said he would come by and fix it as per our contract/warranty. To make a long story short, he stood me up on 3 occasions, each one with no notice whatsoever - he just didn't show up and didn't call. When I emailed him, he'd give me excuse after excuse (among them, the flu, the rain, the weather, etc.) and after more than 6 months of waiting, he is no longer answering my emails and has made no effort to come back and fix the stones. They are now concave, cracked, sinking into the ground and terribly uneven. It not only looks terribly amateurish, but the whole experience of working with someone I found from a flyer has left a terrible taste in my mouth, and I will never answer a flyer thrown in my mail again. There's a reason they call it junk mail. Leave it to the more seasoned professionals, these guys are very amateurish and they will not live up to their warranty agreements if you run into problems.

We discovered a carpenter ant problem last summer over our garage, and this summer we discovered that they may have burrowed a new home into our roof! I promptly called Mike from Bugs R Us, and he came right away. He was super professional and told me exactly what the problem was and why the ants liked to keep coming back and he outlined in detail how we can make our home less inviting to bugs and creepy crawlers. Then he sprayed the exterior of our home thoroughly and assured me that he'd come back if the problem wasn't resolved. So not only did he kill the bugs and hopefully make our home less appealing for carpenter ants, he also went above the norm and gave use useful tips on how to keep them out once and for all. Thanks Mike! Your service was very much appreciated! H.R.

Last Saturday we were about to repair the eavestrough on our garage and found a terrible surprise lurking in the wooden beam behind the vinyl - carpenter ants! And millions of them (or so it seemed!) They had colonized in the beam that we had let rot away from the leaky eaves (this is what we were trying to repair!) But the ants beat us to it. There were what seemed like millions of dusgusting ants with brown/reddish backs, it looked like a moving carpet. We didn't know what to do and had never seen carpenter ants before. So I called a few places in the phone book, and Chris from Metro Pest Control were, a) the only ones open; and b) the only ones willing to come right away and not charge an arm and a leg! But unfortunately it had started to rain but he promised to come the next morning (Sunday). So come Sunday at 10:00am, Chris came and confirmed with one look that they were carpenter ants. He said that only carpeter ants would excavate holes and galleries like that. So he set to it and sprayed the entire perimeter of the house, the garage inside and out, and the inside of our main floor, "just to be sure" he said. He was so nice! And the whole time he was explaining the product he was using, what it does to the ants, and how to keep this from happening again. He made sure were understood everything. He has over 35 years in the business and it shows! He really cares about the families he's serving and it was a pleasure to have him help us. We would definately recommend him (and already have) and will definately call him again for pest control. Speaking of which....we do have some pesky raccoons running about..... Thanks Chris!
