Our house, which was built in 1911, was sorely in need of a host of repairs. It needed a new chimney, some deteriorating bricks needed to be replaced, the concrete at the base along the side of the house was cracked. Jim came out, quoted the job himself and everything was done as described and for the price we had discussed. He was a true professional from beginning to end. He called when he couldn't come as scheduled because of rain, and showed up as soon as the weather cooperated. During the course of the job, he kept us well informed of its progress. We were amazed at how quickly they completed the project. The crew were all very pleasant and left behind a clean work site. It is obvious that Jim and his crew take pride in their work. We have happily entrusted Bob Steele with our painting and wall papering needs on several occasions during the past 12 years. To begin with, Bob has an impressive understanding of colour and design. From period-style heritage homes to ultra modern condos, Bob provides expert advice on colours and finishes. As for his painting and wallpapering skills, Bob is truly awesome. Not only did he do a masterful job on this project, he successfully met a very demanding deadline. There seems to be no end to where Bob’s expertise begins and ends. (His extensive knowledge of all things botanical, for instance, proved very useful in our landscaping projects.) All in all, Bob is a veritable Renaissance Man. We hired Tom a few weeks ago to replace our old tar and gravel flat roof. Like all the other “Mega City fans” that are listed here, we thoroughly enjoyed working with Tom and his crew on this project. They did a professional job, from beginning to end. We enjoyed Tom’s enthusiasm and his pride in the work that he undertakes. Very refreshing! And Tom believes in adding value to his work. A recent renovation involving our brick exterior left us with mismatched brickwork around a door and a window. In addition, the masonry workmanship was very shoddy, with mortar smeared across the brickwork. It was an unsightly mess. We called Brian Baird at PermaTint Limited and the problem was solved in short order. What this company did was truly remarkable. They custom tinted each mismatched brick, as well as the mortar, with a silicate-based masonry stain. End result: you could not tell the difference between the old brick and the new. Ray, the technician that was sent to do our job, was a true artist. Their service was top notch and their rates are very reasonable.
