It was quick and easy to get a tech out to ensure our A/C unit is functioning properly. The peace of mind is worth the cost as our previous supplier only told us when something was wrong and cost more than $150!

Given a $1200 quote for a repair on an entirely BRAND NEW roof only 3 years old. No breakdown of cost provided. Called and was told if I don’t like the price to go elsewhere and my “warranty” is done . When I asked what the WARRANTY does cover if not the very elements a roof is suppose to protect against, I was given a vague answer. When I asked for a specific example she said extreme sun exposure ??. I don’t mind paying for repairs or maintenance but not this much, this soon after paying top dollar for a new roof in the first place. Their service was appalling.

It is true that we do not cover wind damage in our warranties, since its an natural event. This recent wind storm has caused over 28 Million dollars worth of damage to the GTA ( https://toronto.ctvnews.ca/video?clipId=139601 ) however to help our customers we offer free temp repair to prevent any further damage from occurring (part of your warranty). From there we give you a number of option, one of them being that you can proceed with the work with another company. Although it is ultimately your choice, we can only recommend, that you don't proceeding with another 'fly by night roofer' or 'storm chaser', due to the fact that they can cause more harm then good, in the future. Tempasure for the win! I can’t express my gratitude enough for the expertise, professionalism and customer service we received from Len and Adam! With a 15 year old furnace (that was never the right size for our house), we knew we were on borrowed time... We had received astronomical quotes from different suppliers 8 months prior. Most with steep rental or maintenance contract fees. During the cold spell that broke a 57 year record in Toronto, our furnace started making noises we never heard before and I was frightened. Len is one of only 2 suppliers who returned my call! Within 24 hrs Adam came to give us an assessment and to our surprise, we had options! Options that were affordable - as affordable as HVAC options can be. Before we were able to make a decision our furnace ceased on a Friday at 4 pm when the expected overnight low was -25. I called Len. While on vacation (out of the country I might add) Len arranged for us to have a new Furnace the very next day, at no extra cost! Furthermore, Len arranged to have heaters delivered to us. We were comfortable despite no furnace on one of the coldest days on record! We also bought a new water heater, to save on monthly rental fees and Len returns our old one to save us money! We are warm, the furnace is quiet and efficient and while HVAC never a sexy household expense, we are so thankful to Len and Tempasure and would recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat.

Our kitchen was in great shape, but a little "off" with where/how the backsplash and cabinets ended in the middle of a wall. We didn't want to redo the kitchen, but it needed a finishing touch and we wanted more storage. Millard Bautista Designs was responsive and willing to take on the job although it wasn't a full kitchen renovation at a good rate. They had exceptional attention to detail and considered things that my husband and I would not have. They shared ideas and the process vs just agreeing to do the work and that made us comfortable. We knew we were in good hands, but the installation happened yesterday and it exceeded our expectations! They took their time and the pantry addition with open shelves matches our existing kitchen perfectly! It elevates our kitchen overall and we couldn't be happier!

We chose Knox based on all of the great HomeStars reviews, but our experience did not match the rating! Knox insulate our attic to R50, weather stripped attic hatch door and installed an insulated exhaust fan hose for $800. A year later, when water started dripping from the fan into the bathroom, an attic inspection revealed a faulty exhaust fan hose, mold that was forming around it and the insulation that was blown in blocked our soffits and didn’t make it all the way to the corners of our home. Knox came back and quoted $850 (more than the work originally done) to re-install the exhaust fan, install new vents for adequate ventilation and kill the mold with some chemical spray. The crew came, but they didn’t install the required vents or spray the mold. They insisted on payment in full and would send another crew back to install the vents – needless to say they never came back. After much debate with the owner (Kent), I was reimbursed $200. The owner told me to ignore the problem, weather strip the attic hatch (which I paid them to do a year ago) and that I was being paranoid about the mold (because I’m pregnant) and I was lucky that I didn’t get screwed out of more money. He also told me that there was nothing I could do and he wasn’t afraid of the Better Business Bureau. Look at the pictures and you be the judge. Since when is it safe to ignore black mold?

This person was impossible to deal with. She is confused about the service we provided. We sent her a refund & lost money on the job. They bought a home with moisture problems & we fixed the problem. I called & assured her not to worry. She is pregnant & paranoid about mold,I told her they should seal the attic hatch if she is still unable to rest her mind.

I was referred to Curbz by a friend and used HomeStars to validate our decision to work with them. They were immediately responsive to inquiries for estimates - unlike many other companies we contacted. One company came to our home, took measurements, but never called us back. Curbz was great, we had a very good feeling about them from the first time they came over. They were great to correspond with over email too. The work was done very quickly and the results exceeded our expectations. My husband and I didn't want anything fancy, just a level patio to eat on, with a nice clean feeling, not overrun with weeds. The limestone patio turned out beautifully! My pictures don't do it justice! We have lovely river stones in 2 areas that we didn't want to plant in. The guys who did the work were wonderful - super friendly, polite and they arrived at the crack of dawn each day! We look forward to seeing the backyard evolve as our plants mature.

I first contacted Lundy in April 2013 to fence-in my backyard. It was technically already fenced-in by the fences my neighbours have, but it was a complete eyesore since each of 3 neighbours had different fences. Lundy was very responsive, came out to meet with me and was very friendly about the process and had recommendations I hadn't thought of to save money! I received a great estimate and as I was getting married, deferred the work for 2 months. Upon getting back from my honeymoon, again Lundy was very responsive and very customer service oriented to schedule a date. My backyard is a good size and the work was done in no time! The guys were very self-sufficient, quick, quiet and courteous. I later did landscaping and the fence has held up beautifully. Everyone who now comes for a BBQ asks about it, who did it and how much it cost me. I would recommend them to anyone!!!!

North Shore was responsive to our initial inquiry, prompt with the appointment for the estimate, very knowledgable and forthcoming with information! I had an idea of what I wanted to do to re-direct water drainage to the back of the house and North Shore took the time to walk me through all options. They answered questions about problems we had in the past and explained everything! The job was done on, not a dime over the estimate and the crew was professional, friendly and respectful of our property! I would use them again, but they did such a good job I don't think I ever have to!
