9 years ago I had Heritage build a 16 x 14 composite deck. At that time I did my due diligence, reviewed Heritage and some of their recent installations. The reviews of the company were fantastic, as a trusted builder I went with their recommended composite decking to be used. Fast forward 9 years, the composite decking is failing horribly. I had their representative in to quote the replacement of only the deck boards. I am reasonable, I did offer to pay the difference for an upgraded product and some of the labour. Much to my surprise, it took over 4 weeks for him to come back with a $26k replacement quote! Following is the text from his quote: “Hi folks, Please see the attached estimate to resurface the deck and steps. This estimate is for Azek 'Vintage' collection, polymer decking. The issues with your current decking is a manufacturer warranty issue and not a Heritage Design installation issue. As such, we cannot cover any part of the replacement of this decking.” I will not be proceeding with Heritage. They have offered absolutely terrible customer service. If you are looking for a company to take your money and abandon the product that they installed, then Heritage is your company.
