We live in a 1926 Colonial Revival bungalow in Warrenton, Virginia. There is an elaborate little roof covering the door exiting our kitchen. Half of it had rotted away because of years of water damage. Nash had to custom mill new lumber and rebuild the rotten half of the roof. I still have to remind myself which side they rebuilt because they match so perfectly you can't tell it wasn't original construction. We paid a little extra to go with Nash but we felt something as important as infrastructure really required the best contractor because it would effect the value of our home.

We purchased the paint for both the exterior and interior of our 1926 Warrenton bungalow. They carry many of the better brands and we chose Benjamin Moore paint. On every order we use their custom-matching service because we need to achieve colors that are appropriate to the era of our home. The color of the exterior is almost like limestone (we have a stucco house) and we actually had a lady come to the front door asking about the color and where we bought the paint. After her third visit to look at our paint job we finally gave her a jar full of the paint to take with her so she could get an exact match. As happy customers we will always get our paint from the Paint Shop, LTD.

Have you ever heard of anyone who loves their plumber!!? Well we do, after trying a couple of other plumbers in the area (with unsatisfactory results) we tried MRC plumbing. They do wonderful work and have never over-charged us (even for an emergency call) when our basement flooded a couple of years ago. Another great thing about MRC is they actually show up when they say they will (can you believe it?). They seem interested in the work and are helpful and friendly--just great!

Gilliam's is a lumber and hardware company that really knows what Warrenton residents need for their home projects. They carry a lot of hard-to-find merchandise like the half-round gutter acessories we needed for our house. If they don't have what you're looking for they will order it for you. They get a 10 rating as we are long-time customers of Gilliam's

Rankin's Hardware has been in business for at least 35 years. They are a smaller hardware store but they carry higher-qualilty merchandise, many unusual items not carried by the "big box" stores, and items you generally can only get through a catalog. They were invaluable in the restoration of our 1926 Colonial Revival bungalow and we are always making trips to Rankin's (they're just down the street) as we move from room to room in our project. It's also a plus to do business with a friendly, family-owned company where you get personalized service you wouldn't get at larger stores.
