Company said technician would be here between 3 and 5. He arrived closer to 3. Was here a few minutes. Told him my stove was working just fine so no hassle about "diagnostics" / "stove needs repair" etc. Did what I asked = small repair (re-install screws in burner switch) I couldn't do myself. Total cost (with tax) = 91.00. By contrast, a different appliance repair company (not on Homestars) a year ago charged me $192 ... same problem, same burner. A second company (on Homestars) asked for pictures of what needed to be done! Express Repair is my go-to for stove repairs.

Came next day. Work was completed in an hour. Faucet is compatible with the washer I sometimes hook up to the faucet. (The plumber took the time to be sure I could change aerators OK.) Price is the same as it was for the same job in 2010. Excellent, just excellent. I have no hesitation n recommending Aviv Plumbing!

I'll wait a couple of weeks to be sure the freezer doesn't ice up again (the problem has been ongoing since August and I had another company, not on Homestars, look at the fridge before Repair Care). I want to post a cautiously-optimistic review now. First, my speech impairment makes it difficult for me to talk over the phone, so thank you for communicating with me by e-mail. Next, thank you for the technician who came the day after I requested service. Your technician read my notes about the fridge before he started work. He cleared the ice build-up from the freezer, tested the freezer and found and replaced a faulty defrost thermostat. The technician also checked out the fridge part. Labour costs were exactly what you quoted in your e-mail, and the faulty part was replaced during the same visit. Labour costs were much cheaper than "the other company." I hope the problem is properly diagnosed and fixed now, but will call Repair Care for any future repairs. My thanks! Added Oct 19: The problem seems to be solved! There's no ice build-up in the freezer and the fridge part is cooling properly. Thank you again, Repair Care!

It's the little things that drive you crazy, like having a clogged kitchen (double) sink. I tried a plunger and then the baking soda + vinegar trick before calling Tony. Tony came when he said he would, ON A SUNDAY, quickly snaked my sink and had the sink unclogged and the water flowing in no time! He explained "sink maintenance" to me—no expensive chemicals, just hot water a couple times a year—and demonstrated it. I hadn't heard the hot water trick before. The charge for a Sunday call is not much more than for a weekday. I'm happy with the service and happy I called Tony!

I initially asked Ross to fix a corner kitchen cupboard door that had come off its hinge. Other handymen asked for pictures of the "project" before deciding if they'd accept the job. Ross just came and fixed the door. While he was here, I asked how much wallpaper I would need for my small condo kitchen. Ross told me what to order, we agreed he would do the wallpapering, so "no charge" for his time in fixing the cupboard door. I found a wallpaper online, e-mailed Ross asking that he look at the website link to confirm quantity and that it was the right thing for the kitchen, then ordered the paper. Wallpapering / kitchen caulking / repair of linoleum outside bathroom door done yesterday is excellent! Ross and son Erik are wonderful to work with: Arrive when they say they will, know what they're doing, do it, and clean up after the job is done. Not being "handy" around the house myself, I appreciate honest advice freely given, and a workman's time to do a job I can't do myself. Rate for labour is a senior's dream. One more visit is needed to finish kitchen caulking. Payment not required until the work is completed, so I know the small bit of follow-up will be done, too. Reliable, pleasant, reasonable rates (discount for seniors). They get the job done, and don't need to see pictures beforehand! What more can anyone ask? I recommend Ross and Erik to anyone needing handyman services for even small jobs. 10/10 rating for this company from this customer!
