Last fall I got a note from the HOA saying that I had to get my gutters cleaned ASAP. Action had been smart enough to flier our neighborhood that same week, so I gave them a call. There was no way I was cleaning my two-stories-up gutters myself. The contractors from Action were pleasant and professional and showed up well within the window of time provided. They did a good job of cleaning the gutters and didn't leave piles of gutter goop all over the lawn. What more could you ask for?

With my boyfriend and I both diagnosed with allergies, we figured our house could use a duct cleaning. Since we didn't know of any companies that did this we asked a neighbor, who recommended Mack's. We were a little worried about dust flying all over the house and were relieved to see that all the crud would be contained in a vacuum. There was no harm done to my home, no bad fumes or mess, and the process only took about an hour. The contractor arrived as scheduled, and afterwards, I could breathe a lot easier. He was even careful not to upset my dog.

A plumber from Bucko was sent to my home by my home warranty company when I complained about problems with my washer not draining. After looking at the washer for nearly an hour, he declared that there was nothing wrong with it and took my $100 deductible. I had to get a second plumber to come out and diagnose the problem, which was a defective pump belt. I was none to happy to shell out more money for an issue that should have been diagnosed on the first go-round. The second plumber that came out was very good, so that is my only issue, but it is a big one.

I called Scardina last month when my sump pump broke. They were the only company that said they could come out on a day's notice, since we'd been having torrential rains and everyone and their brother's basement was flooded. I will always be grateful to them for that. The plumber arrived on time and was quick and professional. I was very impressed with the service.

I bought my house during the buyer's market a few years ago and seller agreed to throw in some brand-new windows from Long. We met with the Long representative shortly after moving in, and they were very knowledgeable about the product and explained it in detail. The windows are wonderful. They trap heat well and they are very easy to remove and clean. About half our neighborhood has used Long now, because the positive word of mouth is spreading. The only drawback is they are expensive, but you have to pay for quality.
