We purchased our dishwasher at the Best Buy in Union City. The employee at the store was very friendly and gave us her own personal dishwasher recommendation. She was able to demonstrate the different features and even explained to us about the PG&E rebate for energy efficient appliances. We purchased the dishwasher based on her recommendation. However, the installation service did not go as smooth as we had hoped. We were told that the installation was serviced by a third party and that we would receive a call from the company to confirm our installation date. No one contacted us about our installation. No one showed up the date that they were scheduled to come. I had to call them 4 times before we heard back from someone and when the technicial finally came, he was rude and left a mess in our kitchen and did not clean up afterwards and said that he was not responsible for cleaning, just the installation. I would say Best Buy is good for their products and in store service but I would steer away from the installation service.

Water Concepts have a nice variety of kitchen fixtures and accessories. They have unique designs of faucets and sinks in their showroom. This is the only place we've found in the Tricity area that sells the filters for our hot water dispenser. Also, both times that we were there, the employees were very friendly and someone greets you immediately when you come into the store.

This Home Depot is conveniently located off of the freeway. There's plenty of parking and easy to get in and out of. They have a nice selection of materials that you need for an outdoor pond. They also have a pretty good hassle free return policy in which they can issue you a store credit without a receipt.

I like Lowes as a company overall but this particular store in Union City is poorly runned and managed. I've had 2 experiences at the store and they were both bad. The first time when we bought an under the counter refrigerator from the store, we had to wait for half an hour for servicing. At the cashier, we told the cashier that we would need help loading the refrigerator onto our vehicle and the cashier told us to pull our car upfront and someone will come out to assist us. We went outside and pulled our vehicle up front and waited but no one came out to assist us. We waited for about 5 minutes and no one came outside. My husband was so fed up at that point that he just moved it himself. It would be understandable if all the employees in the store was busy assisting customers but we noticed there were at least 4 employees standing there chatting among themselves.

I've used ADT for the past 3 years for residential security service. Recently, I was charged for 2 false alarms by the City of Hayward. I called the local office to inquire about this and the lady that I spoke to was not helpful at all. She was rude and did not provide the information that I asked of her and simply said that they don't have the information available in the system. She was obnoxious and unprofessional. I am upset and apalled that the local office would treat their customers this way. ADT is not the only alarm service out there. I guess they've gotten too big that they don't care about servicing their small customers.
