We needed to get mulch for our landscaping project and we went to Proctors because it is locally owned. The service was okay, not great. We had never bought mulch before so we had a lot of questions. The guy who helped us answered our questions but wasn't very enthusiastic or overly helpful with his service. Maybe they have a ton of local business and are happy to rely on that, but for us, I don't see a reason to come back again.

We had a lawnmower that sat unused for a year and half and would not start. We called around to repair places, but Russell was by far the nicest and most helpful we encountered. We were worried that the lawn mower was unfixable, but Russell's calm demeanor reassured us that they could get it fixed and it would not cost a fortune. He educated us about the different things that needed to be done and we didn't feel pressured or like we were being "sold." The price was extremely fair and the service was excellent. They also rent all sorts of equipment, so we'll be using them in the future for other yard projects!

We had to have the septic pumped and these guys came out and did a fantastic job. They educated us (we were clueless about septic systems) about proper septic maintenance. They even left us a year's supply of some enzyme cleaner to put down the septic. We really appreciated the time and care they took with the work they did, even if it is an icky thing!

Yes, Home Depot is a big "box" store, but when you're looking for a great selection and free advice from people who know how, this is the place. After several trips to local, smaller stores, we couldn't find everything we needed for a water filtration system, pipes to replace under the kitchen sink and some tub enclosure issues. Every time we go to the plumbing section, we find detailed, helpful advice to guide us on our project, start to finish. Just make sure you find someone who actually works in the plumbing section, not just an employee. Mark has always been super helpful and always reassures us that yes, we can solve a lot of these issues ourselves. He always encourages us to come back with questions and to let him know the outcome.

The staff was very helpful with helping me estimate how much lumber I would need and what kind. They took the time to educate me and answered any questions I had. The prices were fair and the service was great.
