I found Newmarket Garage Doors through a Google search when looking for a local garage door company to install a new garage door opener to replace a broken one. The price they quoted for a Chamberlain model was a bit cheaper than another local competitor and when I spoke with the company owner Carl, I felt confident using them. Carl also gave us the same sale price he'd offered me months earlier when I'd first called for a quote although I never bothered to get the work done until many months later with the winter approaching. I called them on a Monday and they came the next day as promised to install the new opener and remove the old broken one. The installation took about 1.5 hours. The installer was courteous and helpful and installed the new system and then showed me a few quick things to get started. He also programmed the outside remote to get that working for us as well. All in all, I'm very happy with the work that Newmarket Garage Doors did and would happily use them again. I would certainly recommend them for anyone needing a new or replacement garage door opener installed as we did.

Larry White was referred to me by our pool company who suggested we call him to install and hard wire a new chlorinator for our pool system. Larry installed our new Hayward P4 chlorinator which involved some new wiring and changing a few things in our existing electrical set up. Before we'd agreed to work with him, Larry offered to drive to our house and take a look at things to get a better idea of the work involved and to get us a free quote. Another electrician I'd contacted just quoted over the phone and then mentioned it might cost more depending on how things turned out which didn't give me much confidence so in that regard, Larry was very professional in comparison to others I'd called for quotes. After we'd agreed to the work, Larry arrived at the agreed time and completed the work as promised. He also fixed a few things (at no extra cost) that he'd noticed including the fact that one of our main electrical cords had been bitten through by an animal. He also rewired something else that had been done incorrectly by someone else. Larry was very professional and courteous and delivered as promised. I'd almost gone with another electrician who I'd first been referred to for this job but this guy kept putting me off and eventually never bothered to show up. Larry on the other hand was top notch and I'm glad we hired him. I happily recommend White Electric for electrical work and in our case, pool-specific work which he can certainly do.

I had a leaky water control valve that turns the water on and off for the washing machine and it was leaking on the floor which is clearly a problem. The old valve had deteriorated and these guys were able to replace the whole unit and put a new, better quality valve in. The job took about one hour and it was good to go after that. They arrived on time and came the day after I called them which wasn't too bad all things considered. I'd certainly use them again for plumbing needs.

I've been using Lifestyle Pools to open and close our pool for over 5 years. They originally built the pool so they know the pool and equipment very well. They're a local company and have built a number of pools in the area. The staff know their stuff and are pleasant to deal with. They've also helped with replacing pump equipment and troubleshooting problems we've had. I happily recommend them.

I've used Richard several times to install a new dishwasher, repair a dryer and troubleshoot a broken fridge. Richard has a great personality, calm demeanour and often tries to help me troubleshoot the problem over the phone first to avoid having to pay him. He doesn't oversell and actually tries to help you figure out over the phone if your appliance is even worth looking at as opposed to perhaps buying a new one if your old one simply isn't worth repairing. I happily recommend Richard and will be happy to utilize his help in the future if needed.

I had initially contacted Tony from WOW Roofing and Insulation a few years ago when I noticed damage to our shingles from the two downspouts from our roof. I ended up getting Tony to reshingle our roof this fall and also take out and replace the insulation in our attic too. Let me tell you tell you how conscientious Tony is: He came by our house in the night during a rain storm to ensure that the tarp he'd put on the roof hadn't blown off. He spent 2 hours tarping our house at the end of day 1 because he expected rain and didn't want the unfinished roof to get wet. I've seen other roofers on our street show up at a larger house than ours at 7:30am and leave at 5:30pm that same day having completed the roofing job. Of course, they reshingle the roof over bare wood which is the cheap way and voids your shingle warranty. Tony on the other hand tar papers the whole roof and uses significantly more ice shield than is required by law. The other roofers on our street do the minimum. Tony goes the extra mile and a half. If you see a roof being reshingled over bare wood, you know the homeowners went cheap. Tony doesn't do this. He's very knowledgeable, explains everything and helps you understand what you need to get done. He actually suggested that he repair our roof rather than replace the whole thing so he certainly didn't try to oversell us, Quite the opposite actually. Another big thing Tony is big on is ventilation. Most houses have way too little ventilation. If your upstairs level gets super hot in the middle of the summer like ours does, it's because the attic isn't venting properly most likely because you have the same cheap little square vents on your roof that 99% of homes have. Tony got rid of our old inadequate square vents and installed two large high flow vents to help properly vent and cool the attic which will help to keep our home cool in summer. He also added two small vents on our garage to help vent our garage which also gets super hot in the summer. All in all, very good work and very knowledgeable. Highly recommended. Thanks Tony.

I had Brent Air Systems replace an ignitor on my furnace that had broken which meant the furnace wasn't pumping out heat, only cold air. Of course, the furnace breaks on a cold day but fortunately these guys showed up within 2 hours after the call and the furnace was up and running about an hour after that. Very quick service, explained everything and also spent some time talking to me about what had broken (the ignitor) and explained a few other aspects of the furnace. Side note: after I had this work done, I had an unrelated issue with my furnace so when I called Brent to enquire about help, they actually diagnosed the problem over the phone and helped me fix the issue myself, saving myself at least $120. They knew it was a minor job (some minor maintenance and cleaning that was required) and that I'd probably be capable of fixing it myself and that's exactly what happened. Thanks guys!

I got a good first impression of Capps Duct Cleaning after finding their reviews on HomeStars and am happy to provide my feedback. When I called to ask about their services, Cathy answered the phone and spent 10 minutes explaining how their process is different and what we'd be getting. She was very helpful in that regard. On the day of service, Paul (company co-owner) and Joe arrived on time, explained what they do and how it is different from the other (i.e. cheaper) providers and why what they do makes sense and works better. They encouraged me to watch what they did which I liked too. You can go with a $99 duct cleaning service but I believe you get what you pay for. Plus, do you really want a company like that touching your furnace? I was comfortable with Paul and Joe and they took care while in our house to ensure nothing got scratched and they put everything back where it was beforehand. They use their vacuum over every single hot air vent in the house rather than simply attaching to one vent and sucking everything through that one. It takes longer but it means every single vent and duct in the house gets cleaned individually. I'd certainly recommend them and am happy to have used them.
