Mike installed new shutters in our kitchen (French doors and 3 windows) a little over 5 years ago. They look great and have held up very well despite the constant direct sun exposure (our kitchen faces due south). Recently, we noticed that one side of one of the slats on our door was sagging and found that the louver pin holding it in place had broken. We called Mike and true to his word, he came and replaced the broken pin. Everything looks great again. Thanks Mike!

I researched locksmiths in my area (Pickering), contacted a few of them and also went to the two major big box stores to view their products. I obtained various prices for services and chose Bee Safe for several reasons. They were established almost 30 yrs. ago so won't disappear overnight. They also have a storefront near Brock Rd. and Bayley which I visited and was able to view their products. They stand behind their materials and services (5 yr. warranty) and have several options. Diane was very helpful and patient in assisting me on the choice of hardware. We have a double door (French door) entry way so the hardware price was adjusted to take that into account. John (the locksmith and owner) installed my hardware and did an amazing job. He was prompt, courteous and also provided a few "extras." I highly recommend this company and am a happy customer.

We had a deep (black) chip in our tub caused by someone dropping a wrench on it. Additionally, because our tub is metal, it was extremely slippery and I continually feared that I might fall while showering. I reviewed several companies before choosing Dr. Tubs and ultimately chose them. The technician (Gerald) arrived at our home and set up his equipment. I was told beforehand that a large hose needed to be placed out a window that opens at least 8 inches. My bathroom window does not open that wide, but Gerald was able to place the hose out a wider window in another room because the hose extends approximately 30 feet. Gerald was extremely polite and efficient. He covered the wall tile, faucet on the tub and floor area where he was working in order to protect them. The entire process took approximately 4 hours and there is a slight odor for the first day or so which dissipated by leaving the bathroom window open during that time. You cannot use your tub for the first 24 hours (the glaze has to dry completely), but I waited a full 48 hours before using that tub/shower. To my delight, the tub is no longer slippery and the chip is no longer visible. Gerald did a great job and cleaned everything up after he was finished. Although it has only been 1 week, I am pleased with the results.

Thank you Sally for using our services and writing this lovely review of our bathtub refinishing services. Thank you for writing in such detail about our customer service from start to finish and that you cannot see the chip anymore, nor do you worry about slipping. Enjoy your newly reglaze bathtub and be well.

I am relatively new to Pickering and did not know of any reliable local plumbers. The toilet in our master bathroom had a small leak at the base and it was beginning to affect the floor tiles. I did research on Homestars, read all the reviews and selected John Dima to do the repair. He came to our home on Feb. 29, 2016 and fixed the problem by installing a new toilet seal, caulking around the base of the toilet and changing the bolts on this heavy American Standard toilet, as they were insufficient for its weight. John was very professional, polite and showed me the work he had done each step of the way. While this was a small job, John gave it as much attention as if it were a large job. I waited 2 weeks to write this review because I wanted to make sure there were no subsequent problems with the toilet. To date, everything is working perfectly and no more leak! Thank you John. I will call you in the future for any plumbing issues we may have.

EVERY OTHER COMPANY I SPOKE TO SAID IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE; CANADIAN CHOICE MADE IT HAPPEN!!! For the past 2 years I have been searching for a company who would install double sliding screens (NOT retractable screens) for the French doors in our kitchen which lead out to our 2nd story deck. I went to every big box store in Toronto, I attended 2 different home shows and spoke to every door and window vendor present and I obtained 5 different quotes for the work I wanted done. EVERY company told me that double sliding screens, attached to the frames, were just not available in Canada and my only option was to get a single sliding screen or retractable screens for my new French doors. I grew up in Chicago where double sliding screens were very common so I couldn't understand why it posed such a problem in Canada. I even had a video from a U.S. Company (Mastercraft) showing how to install these screens. I showed this video to every vendor I met in the GTA and still got the same response.....not possible. I didn't want retractable screens because due to the deck's 2nd story elevation, it gets quite breezy up here at times and the retractable screens are know for their billowing effect, much like a sailboat in the wind. That wouldn't work for us since squirrels, birds and wasps are frequently found on our deck and they could enter the house at the bottom unsecured portion of the screen when they billow. My husband told me to just settle for a single screen, but I am tenacious and it finally paid off in the form of salesman Gregory Birfir from Canadian Choice. I e-mailed him the video and while he admitted he had never seen screens like that in Canada, he would try to make it happen. Gregory went to the door manufacturer, showed them my video and they agreed to build it, even though they had never done this before either. Well, our new French doors with double sliding screens and the 2 adjacent windows were installed almost one month ago and I couldn't be happier!! They look beautiful and work perfectly. Many thanks to Gregory; he was the only salesman who was willing to go the extra mile to make this happen. That is the type of service you get with Canadian Choice. We did need a few minor adjustments to the new double hung windows, but service tech Oleg came out within a few days and corrected the problems. Now I can open both of my doors and enjoy the full view without fear of any critters entering our home. Also, Canadian Choice was the only company that offered a lifetime guarantee on both parts and labor. Thank you Canadian Choice!!

Mark and Brendan cleaned our ducts on Oct. 28, 2013 and I am extremely pleased with their service. They called ahead to let me know they would arrive within 15 minutes and upon arrival, they were extremely courteous and professional. They measured the outdoor and indoor air qualities, showed me the "before and after" photos of our vents and let me watch every step of the way. They explained the procedure and answered all my questions. They actually removed several rocks from the bottom of our basement cold air return! The house was left quite clean and all I had to do was a light dusting and vacuum after they left. I highly recommend this company and will use them again.

Hi Sally - Thanks for the positive feedback! We do our best to keep homeowners informed on our arrival time. Glad we were able to stick to our time slot as sometimes that's not always the case! Unsettling of dust is inevitable in our business and we always do our best to ensure all service areas are thoroughly cleaned. And once we've cleaned out the dust/debris from within your HVAC system, it's always important for homeowners to clean their existing living space before that dust makes it way back into the HVAC system. The war against dust will always continue but glad we were able to help you win a major battle! Should you require any additional support, please don't hesitate to reconnect. Thanks! We moved to our new home in Pickering over the winter and couldn't wait to enjoy the warm weather on our deck. That proved impossible since carpenter bees continually swarmed us whenever we stepped outside. I am terrified of bees and have stayed inside these past 2 weeks, since the bees first appeared. The problem only got worse with time and in desperation, I called Pesticon on Victoria Day, expecting to get an answering machine so I could leave a message. Much to my surprise, Mr. Ahmed promptly answered and said he would be at our home within 2-3 hours. He arrived 2 hours later, found the "nests" along the side of our deck and applied both a powder and then a spray to the nest areas and the remainder of the deck. Almost immediately, we saw the bees start dropping to the ground. Only an hour later, we were able to sit on our deck in peace. I was so grateful for the prompt service, especially since it is a holiday! Mr. Ahmed was very polite and a pleasure to deal with. I would highly recommend his service to anyone!! Thank you so much, Mr. Ahmed!

We moved from Scarborough to Pickering on Nov. 19, 2012. After researching several companies, we opted to go with Firemen Movers due to their great reviews and we were not disappointed. Our 4 man team consisted of Andrew (crew chief), Chris, Harry and Moses. They first met my husband at a storage facity where we had several items. After packing those onto the truck, they arrived at our 3 story townhome and loaded all our furniture and approximately 50 large moving boxes into the truck. These guys are STRONG and have incredible endurance, continually running up and down approximately 35 stairs each trip. We had a few tricky items: the box spring from our queen sized mattress, our sofa and our loveseat were too large to go through the front door. They crew moved each of these items out the double sliding glass door off the kitchen and onto the balcony. They then divided into 2 groups...one group on the ground outside beneath the balcony and one group on the balcony. They secured each item with ropes and were able to slowly and safely lower them over the balcony railing and onto the ground. We were impressed! Altogether, our move took approximately 9 hours (including the wait time for the key to our new home). Throughout this time, the crew was extremely polite, professional and industrious. They unloaded each of our items and placed them in the appropriate rooms at the new house. They said it helped that I put color coded labels on the outside of each box, ie, all boxes with Blue labels go into the kitchen. all with Red labels into the living room, etc.) I figured this would save time and thus, money! The only reason I am giving them a 9 rather than a 10 is that while carrying boxes down the stairwell at the old residence, someone accidentally nicked the wall and it left a mark approximately 8" long. We tried to clean it, but it wouldn't come off. In the end, we figured the new owners would probably paint and cover the mark up anyway. All of our belongings made it through the move in excellent condition; nothing was broken. We were so pleased with these young men that we gave them each a $10 tip at the end of the night. They deserved it. We would not hesitate to use this company again and would strongly recommend them.

It was a pleasure dealing with Peter and his crew and I highly recommend their services. We were preparing to sell our townhouse and I had a tight time constraint. Peter sent 3 painters to our home and they arrived right on time and worked diligently, finishing the job in 1 day. Peter came by 3 times to check on their progress and he was eager to satisfy us. The house looked great and sold a few hours after our very first open house! The price was quite fair (I had other quotes) and I will be using Peter again to paint our new house.
