July 2017; Dyand failed to install the HE furnace on the day scheduled. Internally someone CANCELLED the Work Order! After a re-installation date was scheduled, two service technicians arrived at 0900 hr. The initial task was to insert a 4" OD liner inside the existing 5" ID chimney. Arrived with no ladder! Departed to St Albert to a rental outlet and rented a ladder. 2 hours later the two returned to install the liner. There was no-way the chimney would accept the liner. This created the homeowner to invest in a new Power Direct Vent hot-water heater. Due to the lateness in the day, the furnace and hot-water install was rescheduled. Dyand did finally and successfully install the new HE furnace, duct modifications and a new hot water heater in one day. The workman ship by the two technicians was acceptable. The old heaters and duct work were removed. After day one there was a smell of natural gas. The Lead installer was called (as per his request if there was a problem) I left a message, ---- no response. Called Dyand service coordinator and explained the problem ---- response call Atco Gas? I then called the city inspector to visit and certify the install. The inspector immediately identified and confirmed the gas leak and called Dyand of the emergency. The Dyand service technician arrived soon after the call and repaired the gas leak. I am very disappointed in the overall performance of the Dyand people. Obviously the LEFT hand dose not know what the RIGHT hand is doing! Plus not immediately responding to a gas leak, which had the potential to create a very serious situation! Loss of life and assets! Would I ever use or recommend Dyand in the future --- absolutely not!
