Moving Companies – Movers Beware! I was moving from Regina to Winnipeg in August 2012, so I sent a request to Canada Movers to obtain quotes for a mover. One of the moving companies that sent me quotes was Pacific 2 Atlantic Van Lines. The company said all the right things. Pacific 2 Atlantic Van Lines requested a deposit of $475 to provide me with the boxes that I needed for the move. An individual by the name of Steve Kovic informed me that he would be working as the Personal Relocation Coordinator for my move. I paid the $475 on Tuesday, August 07, 2012 with that agreement that the boxes will be delivered on Thursday, August 09, 2012 between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. After 8:00 p.m. past and there was no boxes delivered. I contacted Mr. Kovic. He told me that he was unable to get in contact with the person with whom he ordered the boxes. Steve informed me that he will have the boxes delivered first thing in the morning. On Friday, August 10, 2012 a supplier called me to inform me that the boxes will be delivered at 11:00 a.m. After 11:00 a.m. there were still no boxes. It turned out that the credit cards that were provided to the supplier to pay for the boxes by Mr. Kovic kept declining. Mr. Kovic kept providing me with various excuses as to why the credit cards were not being accepted. After receiving all types of conflicting excuses as to why the boxes were not delivered and trouble with being able to reach Pacific 2 Atlantic Van Lines by their company’s phone, I was feeling very uncomfortable having the company transport my belongs. I told Mr. Kovic that I will no longer be considering Pacific 2 Atlantic Van Lines to transport my belongings. Mr. Kovic decided to charge me $668.44 for the boxes. His pricing was (boxes $486.61 + delivery $150 + GST $31.83) although he paid $ 254.72 for the boxes that he bought here in Regina, SK and have the delivered to me here in Regina, SK. He asked me if I was going to tell him how much he should be charging me for the boxes. I believe that I was outrageously rip-off. The moral of this experience is to do your home work before settling on a moving company. Not all of them are honest reliable companies. I recommend that movers use the Better Business Bureau (BBB) to get information on the moving company or to find a dependable moving company. The BBB is the only website that will provide you with reasonable reliable information on a company, and possibly save you from the hell and financial lost that I have experienced with Steve Kovic and Pacific 2 Atlantic Van Lines.
